"i need to piss so bad. let's find a bathroom asap." sophia whispered to the shorter girl beside her, eyes wandering around the unfamiliar building. the airport was much more packed in seoul compared to the one in toronto.

"should have used the one on the plane, the bathrooms are going to be packed." august groaned, hauling her duffle bag further up on her shoulder. "can't i just go to baggage claim while you do your lady business." sophia turned to her sister, raising an eyebrow at the wording.

"no, i'm not leaving you alone in an airport that we've never been in before. someone could steal you."

"just admit that you're too scared to be in public alone." august snickered. the ravenette rolls her eyes, tugging on her sisters sleeve.

"the washrooms are just up there. you can wait for me outside the doors." august agrees and they make a beeline for the washroom. a line of woman was formed, sophia joining the end. august took her backpack, sitting with the carry ons with her back against the wall.

sophia anxiously bit her lip, looking around the busy airport. while she was thrilled to be able to travel, her poor korean and august's lack of any korean worried her. they were only staying for 3 months, but now they were finally here her anxiety seemed to sky rocket. to calm herself, she plugged in her airpods playing her ateez playlist.

thankfully, the lines for the restrooms seemed  to move fast. she sighed in relief when it was finally her turn, relieving her blaster for the first time since she left pearson airport. as she was finishing her business, her phone she had placed on top of the toilet paper dispenser began to buzz. her brows furrowed when she saw the caller id.

"izzy?" sophie asked, flushing the toilet. the quality of the facetime was poor, and the static of izzy's phone shuffling pierced sophie's ears.

"sophie! have you seen the news?" izzy frantically asked, she seemed to be running. sophie could hear her friends family rapidly speaking portuguese in the background.

"no?" the black-haired girl chuckled, "i was just on a plane for 14 hours." izzy's eyes widened, her family shouting frantically in their first-language.

"i love you. stay safe." was all izzy said before the facetime disconnected. sophie's anxiety began to brew deep in her stomach. she unlocked the stall door, preparing herself to apologize to the ladies who were waiting for her to finish. the anxiety inside begins to simmer, heating up her skins and allowing sweat to precipitate along her hairline.

all the stall doors were ajar, the lights above flickering casting the bathroom in a grim light. she removes her airpods, only to be greeted with white noise. she slowly walks towards the sink, slowly turning the faucet, that creaks loudly in the deafening silence. the pipes squeak, protesting her desired actions. water drips from the rusted spout, but she quickly comes to realize that the water won't work.

she huffs, her hands shaking as she reaches into her pants pocket for some hand sanitizer her mother forced her to bring with her. the strong scent overwhelms her nostrils, to best described as tequila-like. she washes her hands with the disinfectant, before opening the bathroom door. for a moment her anxiety begins to bubble up, the airport is empty. but to her right is august, sitting where sophie had left her. she was engaged in a game on her phone, desperately trying to click out of the promoted ad.

"kid!" sophie whisper-shouts, almost hissing out the nickname. "where the hell did everyone go?"

august cluelessly looks up at her sister, before looking at the airport around her. "i dunno." she shrugs, going back to the game on her phone. "can we go now, the wifi here is shit."

"language." sophie glares at the ginger, picking her bag up off the ground and swinging it onto her one shoulder. "let's get the hell out of here, something isn't sitting right with me about this place." she glances over her shoulder, to ensure no one is behind them before moving forward, august trailing behind her.

"language." the younger girl grumbles out, mocking her sister.

as the two sisters round the corner to where the signs indicate the baggage claim is located, a horrifying sight greets them. an elderly man is sitting in a wheelchair, his head titled to the side at a deathly angle. the exposed side of his neck looks as if a wild animal had taken a bite out of it, blood flowing from the wound and a pool of burgundy on the tile flooring surrounding him.

"sophie?" august stutters out her sisters name. the young teen can't help but watch as her sister approaches the corpse of the elder.

"he isn't dead." sophie's mutters out, her anxiety boiling. her stomach bubbles, her insides burning in fear. "i can save him." she reassures herself. despite what she might say, she knows the man is long past gone. both of his injuries, the broken neck and open wound, were fatal ones. as she nears the man, his eyes snap open and his seemingly broken neck straightens to look at the two girls. his jaws snap, growls from deep within his chest sound out in the empty airport.

sophie yelps, backing up. her eyes are wide. "august run for help."

"he looks like he's from fucking train to busan! the fuck is going on, soph!?" august plants her feet where she stands, refusing to leave her sister.

"language." sophia barks. "listen to me right now august cress!"

"fuck off, stop being an adult for 10 seconds and let's get the hell out of here!"

in the time the two sisters were arguing, the living-deadman had collapsed onto the floor from his wheelchair. with his arms, he began to drag his body towards the fighting sisters. a trail of dark red blood left in his tracks.

"josimhae!"
