Somewhere in London
Lei walked slowly across the street, admiring the light snowfall that fell softly all around him. The streets were empty, and it radiated a loneliness that was somehow familiar to him. All his life, lonely was the only word capable of describing his inner street of life. There were some occasional flickers of light in the form of Jing and Shancai, but they were not someone to call his. He once again found himself walking in empty streets. But, he did not mind. He had long learnt to grow accustomed to it. He would still hold his love deep in his heart, even if it means staying lonely all his life.
A faint melody came from somewhere far. It slowly mingled with the loneliness of the street and softness of the snowfall to create a wonderful symphony. He took a deep breath and inhaled the cold air which smelled ice. There is a certain peace in being lonely only few people will understand, he reminded himself. But this heart is uncontrollable. It falls hopelessly for someone who cannot be called his by any means, repeatedly.
Huaze Lei sighed and continued walking.
He did not know how long he walked until he saw a faint silhouette of a person standing in front of him.
The person was approaching slowly, seemingly towards him. His heart skipped a beat seeing another person like him in this snowy night. It was not that he was expecting it, but it made him feel warmer.
The figure had a large hat on, so he could not make out the person properly. Nevertheless, he continued to walk, keeping an eye on the other person. He soon found himself face to face with the person, they were standing just a few feet away from each other. The lamplight above them helped him figure out it was a woman. But her face was covered by the hat.
Slowly, which seemed like an eternity, the lady took off her hat and smiled at him.
"Lei! It's so good to see you again."
Lei's heart skipped a few beats again.
"Jing!" He exclaimed, unable to control his surprise. "Why are you here?"
She smiled sweetly. That smile, which caused him go weak on his knees everytime, though no one understood that.
"I came to look for the one whom I love the most in this life."
The faint symphony coming from afar seemed to grow, while two figures under the lamplight of night entwined themselves in the snow that fell from above.
