Running for my life through the woods was so exhausting! Why am I doing this again? Oh, right: vampire hunters…
They found my secret hiding place.
Gosh, don’t they get it?! I’m not a vampire! I’m a freaking vampie. Don’t they understand? I’m not one of…them. Sure, I wouldn’t be complaining if they were ‘vampie hunters’. Sure, that would be their job. But, no! I have to waste my time running away from vampire hunters! AND IT’S NOT EVEN THEIR JOB TO DO THAT…TO ME! It’s pure shit, I tell you.
I was panting and climbing trees here and there. I still heard those footsteps. I wanted to cry right about now. Those little fuckers…
I climbed the largest tree I could find. I sneezed. Oh, no. I was allergic to pine trees… especially big ones. I couldn’t help but sneeze again. Gosh, I’m in big trouble. Well, whatever, I have to climb it for my life.
I went for the first branch and pulled myself up. Then, I got another one, and another….
When I was finally high enough, I sat as still as possible. I was hoping the hunter would forget about this and leave. The hope blew away when I heard steady footsteps approaching. I swallowed any sneeze I was about to…well, sneeze.
I heard his steps below the tree and his panting. I also heard the click of the gun. Shit, he had a gun! It must have silver bullets in there. My heart was beating so fast. And yes, I do have a heart. You see now why I am so different from vampires.
I smelled something: blood.
Shit, was he cut? Or am I cut? I looked at my body, careful not to fall off the branch. I looked fine. I turned to my earlier view of the human. He was now in the foot of the tree. Oh shit, no.
"Guys, spread out." One of the hunters said while I hoped the guy below me wouldn’t look up.
I tried to stay as still as possible, but the pine’s smell hit my nose. I tried to hold it in, but I was failing. Oh fu -
“ACHOO!” I sneezed and fell below. I screamed on the way down and fell on something comfy. But, either way, it hurt. I opened my eyes and my heart nearly skipped a beat. The hunter's face was inches away from mine.
The hunter looked extremely young, compared to the others.
His eyes glimmered in the moon light and were wide open. He was completely frozen. I couldn’t feel his heartbeat. Well, that made two of us. When I finally got a hold of my mind, I snapped out of it.
I choked on my own gasp and backed away from the guy’s lap. He then snapped out of it too and pointed the gun at me; which, by the way, was shaking along with his arm.
“F-freeze!” He said with a shaky voice. Oh, yeah, sooo scary…
I backed away too much and hit my back with another tree, causing a few leaves to fall down. I was breathing heavily. I tried to make a plan, so that I could sneak away.
“What if I don’t?” I tried to sound brave and bitchy. He remained shaky.
“I’ll s-s-shoot.” He threatened. Wow, really, dude? You think I’m scared of that?
Then I noticed something.
“Shoot me.” I said with a smirk on my face. He didn’t respond. He just shook and tried to talk. By the way he was looking at me; I knew he found me attractive. I couldn’t blame him, we vampies were born attractive. I had jade green eyes with dark brown hair. My full lips always remained the same color: red. They weren’t pink, they were red. No pink: red. And my fangs were the whitest of the white, along with my other teeth.
He still didn’t respond.
“Now.” I whispered. When he didn’t do anything, I slowly stood up and he, again, pointed at me with the gun.
“Stop.” He warned. “Or I’ll shoot you.”
“I want you to shoot me, dumbass.” I told him in my most bitchy attitude. He looked even more scared.
He then pulled the trigger.
And I burst out laughing.
“OH MY GOODNESS! YOU DON’T HAVE IT FILLED UP?!” I yelled in shock and fell gripping my stomach. It hurt so much from the laughing. He then looked pissed.
…And jumped at me with a knife.
I got him off me and, when I saw him getting closer, I jumped up and covered myself. Then, he punched me, but I blocked it. As he tackled me, I realized this guy was tough. I let a grunt out and he tried to hit me with the silver knife. My heart beat was fast, but I managed to have a steady breathe. If I didn’t, I might have gotten dizzy. Yeah, it sounds stupid, but whatever.
When he finally caught hold of my arm and pinned it down, I almost cried in pain. I let out a scream, but not one single tear. I’m not even sure if he cracked my elbow.
He held his knife in my neck and I panicked.
My breathing was heavy and I was gasping for air.
“D-don’t move.” He warned.
“I can’t, dickhead.” I told him not making eye contact. Sure I was gonna die, but I won’t leave my attitude behind. He rolled his eyes and pressed the knife even more.
With all my strength, I quickly pushed him off.
He bumped with another tree and this time, I was the one pinning him down.
I had my hand gripping on his neck and another one gripping his arm. He screamed in pain; I didn’t care.
“Dipshit, if you touch me again with your little knife, you gonna pay.” I threatened him and he tried to nod. I smiled viciously. “And if you plan on killing me, trust me; your pain will be worse.” And before I could start another sentence, he cut me off.
“I’m sorry, okay?! I’m only 16 and they kidnapped me for this. I’ve been in training for years! I am against this, so please let me go! I’m too young to die. I want to go back to my family and –“
“Don’t start blabbing about your family problems, that isn’t mine to deal with.” I said coldly, but he kept on going.
“P-please, I won’t kill you.” He told me.
“I-I swear! Please, I want to go –“
Footsteps filled my ears. I backed away from him and looked around.
Vampire hunters…
I ran towards the closest tree I could find and climbed it. When I was finally steady in a high branch, I quietly kept watch of what was happening.
“Gregory!” I heard a tough guy scream. I looked at the boy and he seemed scared. He turned his head when the guy said his name. Oh, his name was Gregory.
“I’m here.” The boy said and the two tough men walk towards him.
“Did you kill the vampire?”
There was a small silence.
“N-no.” The boy said and then one of the two dudes punched his face. I gasped in shock. Oh, poor boy.
Wtf, dude, he tried to kill you!
Yeah, but he's such a wuss. I feel bad for him.
My nose started to tickle.
Oh shit, I’m in a pine tree.
