Everything happened so quickly. After that morning, I lost everything. My family, my home, and the only people in my life that truely loved me. The police officers told me it was a hit and run, that by the time they got to the scene, all that was left was their dead bodies.

I didn't have any other family, no one to take me in. So I got dumped in a foster home, with a bunch of strangers. I was seven, and I had no one, no one to trust, no one to confide in.

They said I would get adopted and that I shouldn't worry. But the reality was that no one wanted me, I was a lost cause. All people saw in me, was this sad little girl that just lost her parents. I was there for 2 months, everyday praying someone would adopt me, so I could have a family again. Feel loved and wanted.

So stupid, I was so stupid. To think that anyone would love me, I was nothing, I had no talents, nothing special about me. Why would anyone want me?

A couple came, showed interest in me. At first I was ecstatic, they looked nice and they were the first people to actually look like they would adopt me. After the first visit, they came back introduced themselves, told me they wanted to adopt me.

I couldn't believe it, affter feeling so alone. This couple swooped in and gave me hope. They filled out all the paper work and next thing you know, I was at their home.

When I walked in, I knew something wasn't right. I could smell the stench of alcohol and drugs from a mile away. Maybe I should have taken that as a hint, but I was just so tired. So tired of not having a home, a room for myself. So desperate for love, and acceptance. That I ignored my intuition, and walked in. Big mistake.
