"It's a ring? They could've parcelled it in a smaller box. Why do they need to be so overdramatic and put a box inside another box?" she said feeling annoyed.
"It's beautiful though. So it was worth opening so many boxes," she said looking around the boxes scattered everywhere.
Ignoring the scattered boxes she takes out the ring and takes a closer look at it. It was a silver-coloured ring, decorated with little shiny stones. Noticing how pretty it was, without thinking twice she put on the ring. Feeling enchanted by its beauty, she admired the ring as she seem to like it a lot.
"It fits perfectly and looks so pretty on my finger!" she says still pretty amazed.
That's when it clicks her and her gaze landed on the simple blue-framed wall clock. Noticing the time her heart sank. She was again running late.
"No! How come?! I've to go get ready!"
Saying she rushed towards her washroom. And here starts her usual routine.
After coming out she blow drys her hair in a hurry while packing her belongings into her office bag. Once her hair was dried enough she ties it into a messy bun. That is literally messy due to the rush.
She checks her appearance to make sure nothing looks inappropriate and lastly, takes her bag and keys and comes out of her house.
Standing on the porch of her two-story house, she makes sure the door is securely closed and when felt reassured she started walking.
While she walked on her way, she notices an old lady who was struggling to push the food cart. Understanding her struggle she decides she'll help her. She ran towards her as fast as she could and help her push the cart to where she wanted to stop. Once done she looks at the lady smiling.
"Thank you, dear. I'm really glad that an angel like you helped me," The old lady says smiling.
"It's nothing. I just did my duty as a citizen," she replies smiling ."Um...halmoni, I've to go. Bye."
She said as she started walking while the old lady waved at her walking figure. She was looking at her wristwatch while walking knowing she has messed up.
She could take the bus but to her own fault since she always gets late she misses the bus every time, leaving her no choice but to walk to her office.
"Oh no, I'm getting late," she whispered worriedly.
After looking at her watch to walk even faster she looks up but gets surprised when she bumped into a little girl.
"I'm sorry unnie! I was chasing my ball so I didn't notice you coming. Sorry," The little girl said apologizing, pointing at her pink ball that was rolling on the ground.
"Oh no! No need to say sorry. It's totally fine. But next time be careful while walking on the streets, okay?" she smiles.
"Okay! You're really nice unnie," The little girl said smiling.
"Thank you," she replied patting the girl's head and smiles.
Once done they both started to walk in their separate way.
Finally, after a lot of huffing and puffing, she reached her office building that stood tall in the area crowded with workers. The sunlight reflected brightly on the glass walls of the building. Getting inside she sat down on her simple-looking desk, head down. While she was still catching her breath she felt a pat on her shoulder.
She looked up to see her friend. She was wearing a midnight blue shirt and a maroon pencil skirt.
"Halsey? Good morning," she wished her tiredly.
