Chapter 16

Months before Aalyiah went back in time.....

There was this girl, I know her name was Vanessa, but I know that everyone called her Vanny, she was in two of my classes, I even sat by her in one class, but she wasn't that much of a talker, but we would talk a little bit from time to time, when we did projects. But then she was acting weird, like stand offish, she would draw pictures of a golden bunny, said his name was Glitchtrap. Everyone thought she was weird before, but she became even more weirder when she would talk about Glitchtrap and everyone avoided her in a heartbeat, I was the only one that would listen to her talk about Glitchtrap. That one day, she brought me this creepy looking bunny mask, It had white with brown spots, It's eyes were red, I didn't want to be rude so I thanked her and went off. I never put on the mask, I would put it in my dresser, When I worked at a Cafe, she would come in, her  rainbow colored hair made her stand out. she would order a black coffee with no sugar, and would just stare at the screen of her laptop, no typing or anything, people would give her weird looks or just ignore her. Then, I got letters, no not love letters or mail letter, but letters with creepy messages on them, I read the letter it said: ''He wants you to join us.''  The letters would even get more creepier, one letter I got had blod on it, I freaked out and Delilah had rushed to my side seeing the letter, she saw the letter and called the cops. I was shaken up a little bit, I became more paranoid, because those letter creeped me out. The letters piled up more and more, the police couldn't do anything about it , because the person that was sending  them wasn't physically harming me, Fuck the police.  I would stay at work more late, scared of coming home to see more letters, whoever this person was, I hope they stop. Then one day, Vanny was gone, she didn't showed up to class, I didn't see her during lunch, some people said she dropped out or moved. On the news, people were getting killed, no one knew who the killer was, some say it was a female with rainbow colored hair . she wore a bunny mask, the same mask vanny gave me, but she wasn't the only one, more people were wearing mask's like her killing people. No, not vanny, we may not be friends, but she was the least person I think would do something like this.  One night, I was walking home from work, I was minding my own business, when I felt a hand covered my mouth, I tried elbowing that person, but they grabbed my arm, they dragged me into a van, ''Go!'' yelled a male voice. I was dragged into a building , both males holding my by my arms, there I saw more people in bunny masks, there were lights that were dim, but I could still  see those red eyes, unblinking and soulless eyes, with those  smiles on there face, they let go of me when we saw stopped in front of a girl, her hair was rainbow colored. ''Vanny?''  I said. ''Hello Aalyiah.'' she said, the people around her came closer to me, one of them handed her the mask that she had given me, ''Master would like for you to join us.''  She said in a giggly voice. The two men grabbed me again, vanny walked towards me, In a panic, I stepped on of the guy's foot hard, he let go , I punched the other guy in the face  and I made a run for it, I could hear the chasing after me.  I  don't know how long I was running for, but I knew if I stop, they would catch me, I saw someone in the distance, I ran even faster, I heard the van, I ran faster then I should, but I just wanted to live.  I saw a couple, they had a dog with them,' 'Help me please!'' I said , with fear in my voice. ''Are you okay?'' asked the woman, I  didn't get to answer  because I passed out from all of that running. I woke up in a hospital bed, I looked out and saw Delilah sitting next to the bed in worry, I had some cuts, but they weren't to severe, I got released from the hospital, the cops took me to the police station to ask me some questions.  ''Where did you get the mask from?'' Asked the officer, A classmate of mine gave it to me, I didn't want to be rude so I took it, at least to make her feel better I said. ''What is the name of this classmate of yours?'' he asked, I don't know her real name, but I heard  she went by vanny, so I called her that I said. ''Were you two close?'' he asked. No sir  we would talk to each other a little bit from time to time, but other than that . we weren't close I said. He pulled out a folder and open it, it was a picture of vanny. Do you remember  seeing her in the building?  he asked, I looked at the picture of her, I remembered hearing her voice being all  happy  and giggly. ''It was too dark to see, I don't know if it was her sir .'' I said lying, why didn't I tell the cops, what was I trying to do here?, was I trying to protect her ?, Was I trying to giver a chance?  Vanny and I may not be friends and all, but I do know I can save her or at least redeem herself. 

But with all the killing she did, I don't know If she could be redeemed at all.
