Hero being dummy thicc.

Hero woke up before everyone else. He went to sleep early to regain some energy after the long bus drive. Unlike Keith, he wasn't able to be asleep along the trip, and what he did sleep just gave him dizzyness...

But something good came out of it, now he was able to make breakfast for everyone, even his parents.

What could he make? He put on an apron and started searching around the pantry looking for ideas. He found out a lot of flour, sugar, and baking powder so American-style pancakes were his best bet.

There was everything else he needed? He opened the fridge, ignoring the two left Orange Joes. Maple syrup, eggs, milk, butter, and even some cherry jam for those that preferred it, perfect!

He rolled up his sleeves and started working. In only a few minutes he achieved to mix enough batter to make pancakes for the whole neighborhood -excluding Kel and Keith-. Also, it was immaculate, not even a single lump, just how he likes it!

As soon as the butter started sizzling he started pouring pancakes in and out the pan as fast as he could. Every single one of them turned out fluffy, he felt so proud of himself!

Will he be able to enjoy them? He regained a bit of his tasting ability but it wasn't fully back yet. He wanted to palate his creation along with everyone else...

-Good morning my man! That smells delicious!

Keith came out of nowhere and gave Hero such a scare that he almost jumped.

-Hell! Don't scare me like that idiot!

Hero left the pancake in low heat, he didn't want to ruin his perfect record.

-I'm sorry! I promise that wasn't my intent!

Keith started scratching the back of his head. Either he was lying or about to say something dumb. He seemed nervous.

-Also you look cute in that apron!

He said something dumb.

-Oh c'mon! The first thing in the morning you're going to do is make fun of me?

Hero flipped the pancake, trying to distract himself to seem less flustered.

-No, no, no! I do mean it! It'll be even better without anything below it though...

Now, he was mocking him...

-You did not just say that, right?

Keith only could sense pure anger behind Hero's words. He needed to justify himself.

-Did I say something? Maybe I was just thinking out loud? Ha,ha,ha! It wasn't important! Let's forget about it...

Keith felt awkward about what he just said...

They went silent for a bit. Both of their faces felt so hot that they were almost a perfect oven replacement.

Hero took the pancake out of the stove, it was a bit burned. Goodbye perfect record!

-That's impossible to forget...

Hero started grumbling to himself.

-Can't I be allowed to be a bit weird too?

Hero sighted, he was overreacting like always.

-It's okay. It's not that I hate it... It's just that kind of teasing reminds me of her...

Mary. She always was teasing Hero cause' she loved his flustered expression. She will endure in all kinds of shenanigans just to make Hero feel awkward. But she was a bit more, how to say it...tame.

-I'm so sorry man. I only wanted to compliment you. I wasn't even trying to tease you!

Wait! It wasn't teasing?

-Okay then... I'll do deaf ears and keep on cooking...

That was the best option he could take.

-Okay... I'll go back and change my pajamas. I got so excited by the smell I forgot about doing that. He, he!

Keith went upstairs leaving Hero alone with his thoughts and pancakes. What a weird way to start the day...

Aubrey: How's Sunny?

Kel: He's still sleeping.

Kel: Some weird things happened yesterday. But nothing to be alarmed about.

Aubrey: Care to explain what "weird things" are?

Aubrey: Okay, I'm better not knowing.

Kel: Perfect! Cause' some pancakes are awaiting me.

Kel: Yep. He is.

Kel: Keith just told me.

Aubrey: That's too normal.
