Halo: UNSC Malicious

Chapter 1

I awoke to the sound of an alarm. I immediately jumped out of my bed and ran to the window. I got to the window and opened it, the sound of gunfire filled the room as bright fireballs ignited in the sky."What's the heck--" I was cut off as another explosion rocked the building and a fireball erupted above me. "Oh god, Agartha is being invaded, and on my week off!" I yelled out the window. I ran to my closet and grabbed my backpack, I then ran and got my lucky combat knife and my picture of my family. I turned and ran out the door of my room passed a group of people waiting at the elevator so I found the door to the stairwell as another explosion rocked the building. I continued down the stairwell and into the lobby. The lights overhead began to flicker then died, I then began to scan my surroundings and noticed that I was a few meters away from the front door and made a break for it. Right before I could reach it the roof above it started to collapse, so I lunged backwards trying to avoid the collapsing roof. I landed on my back as the roof caved in and dust filled the air, *cough*,cough* trying to clear my throat. I began to stand back up as the dust started to settle, I looked over at the front door and noticed that the roof had blocked the door when it collapsed, I looked around the lobby and found the backdoor and pushed my way towards it. As I got to the door the building ceiling behind me started to collapse so I quickly pushed open the door and fell out into an alley, all of a sudden green metal object came flying over, I noticed that it was a pelican just as two other purple objects pursued it. I continued down the alley until I came to an intersection and continued forward. I walked until I came to an open street and stopped I looked up towards the space tether, "holy shit!" I yelled as I stood there looking at a covenant cruiser stationed right next to the space tether. All of sudden a blue fireball came flying over and exploded as it the side of a building, I quickly turned towards the direction that it came from and found my self starring at a covenant wraith. The covenant tank turned towards my direction and fired another plasma fireball at me, I quickly turned and started to lunge out of the way. I landed on the ground just as I heard the fireball get closer, I scrambled to get back up but was blown  against a car and rolled several feet over the car as the fireball exploded behind me. I laid there on my back as my vision blurred and my ears ringed, I staggered as I got back to my feet, when I got to my feet I rubbed my eyes trying to clear my vision. Another fireball exploded a few yards away as I stumbled over to the alley and collapsed against the wall. I laid against the wall as I heard the wraith getting closer, I braced myself for the tank to fire other fireball but it didn't, instead of opening fire it just continued down the street and disappeared around a corner of a building. I slowly crawled over to the corner of the building and saw that the street was empty, I noticed that the ringing in my ear's had stopped and my visioned cleared. All of a sudden a pelican slammed down and skidded down the street, it then slammed into the front of a building. I quickly stumbled over to the back of the pelican, I grabbed my back as it stung from being slammed against a car, I continued up the mangled ramp coming up to some marines sitting and some laying in the pelicans bay, I nelt down and checked their pulse. None of them had a pulse so I moved on towards the cockpit of the pelican. When I reached the front of the pelican I noticed that the gunner had been slammed against the console and had blood pouring out of his helmet. I started collecting the dog tags of the marines when I heard a moaning sound, I walked back to the cockpit to find that the pilot was alive and trying to stand up, I quickly walked over and helped the pilot up. "What....what happen?" The pilot said in a female like voice, "you crashed and your the only surviver" I told her. I helped her to the back of the pelican, when we got to the back I helped her out of the pelican over behind one of the cars. "Hey what's your name soldier?" She asked, " Aaron Rakestraw, part of the 38th ODST squadron!" I said with a salute, the pilot saluted back, "alright so you're a hell jumper" she said, "yes ma'am" I said. "Hey there's a weapon case still in the pelican, we'll need the protection" the pilot said, "alright I'll go and get them" I replied. I walked back over to the pelican and back up the mangled ramp. I looked around for a few minutes but didn't see it, I punched the ceiling and a case fell out onto the floor. I nelt down on opened the case, I found a BR55 Battle Rifle and set it aside, I continued to look through the case and found a M7 Sub-Machine Gun. I found a few grenades before I picked up both of the weapons and started to walk out of the pelican. I continued down the mangled ramp and walked over to the pilot and handed her the sub machine gun, she took the gun and tried to get up, I nelt down and helped her up. She stood there and checked the clip then popped it back in, I looked through the scope of the rifle and adjusted it, we then started to walk down the street. We continued down the street before we ran into a group of grunts, I raised my battle rifle and aimed for the grunts head, I fired a 3 round burst at the grunt. The bullets ripped through the grunts skull and the alien fell dead, the pilot raised her gun and fired as two more dropped dead. Just as I was about to shoot the other two grunts an elite came running around the corner and raised its plasma rifle, a second later the elite opened fire sending a wave of plasma flying towards us. We ducked trying to avoid the on coming plasma, I jumped back to my feet and opened fire at the alien, the elite stumbled back as the bullets hit its armor and its shields flared, the elite returned fire before another round of bullets ripped through its armor plating, the elite roared in pain before the elite fell dead. Now know that their commander was dead the two grunts panicked and ran in terror, I fired at the fleeing grunts. I struck one of the grunts in the back and the grunt collapsed into a lifeless corpse. The pilot then raised her sub machine gun and fired killing the grunt instantly, I then walked back over to the pilot. "Your a pretty good shot for a rookie ODST" she said, "your not that bad yourself" I replied. We continued to walk until we came to an intersection, we stopped and looked towards what I think was the shipping port. We gasped as we stood there looking up.
