Graduation

No more than a month later, Graduation Day arose. Well, Michigan called it Commencement Day. I arrived at the north eastern side of the Stadium just past 8, I was running a little bit late. I saw Davie in a crowd and caught up with him. He looked just as nervous as I did, but we were both filled with excitement and joy. We were both in our cap and gown, as directed by Michigan.

A quarter past 8, photography began. I got in a few group pictures with my friends, especially Davie. My favorite picture was one of our group of 7. Davie, Leslie, Lindsey, Josh, Ben, Nicole and I. We were in a ton of different poses, it was a great time. I had a thing for Lindsey, so I wanted to get as close as I could to her while also staying by Davie.

Lindsey was the cutest girl I have ever met. She had long, curly, brown hair and these gorgeous green eyes. She wasn't very tall, only 5 foot 4. She had the greatest personality of any car that I've ever met. She was funny, sometimes shy, and she had a cute voice.

Half an hour after pictures began, we were all moved to the procession in the stadium. I was around Davie as we went through, but I was looking at Lindsey a good portion of the time. "Come on Dan, you've got to do something. You know she's a lot more shy around you, she's probably in love." He tried to tell me in a lovey dovey tone, I gave him a small laugh and shrugged.

As we were sitting down in our seats, waiting for he procession to end, I noticed that Lindsey sat in the set right in front of me. I got a little excited, and Davie could tell. "Calm down man, deep breaths. Afterwards you can say something." He laughed as he said it, and I almost broke a sweat.

I looked out for my mom in the crowd. Ever since my dad was lost in a plane accident, I've been more attached to my mom than ever. She's been my guide through the darkness, and I'll always love her. Her name was Tricia, and she had short, black hair. Her eyes wet bright blue, and she was always so happy. Davie wasn't too worried to look for his parents, he loved them though he wasn't as attached.

The ceremony was one of the best achievements I've ever had. Walking up to the podium and receiving my certificate was a phenomenal feeling, and I'll never forget it. I saw my mom in the crowd, and our eyes locked. My smile grew larger, and she began to shed a few tears. I laughed a little bit and have her a thumbs up, receiving one straight back from her as she wiped her eye with her other hand.

After the ceremony, I felt as free as a bird. I felt like I could do anything I want without having to worry even just a little. Davie walked up behind me as I was leaving, and searched for Lindsey. "Hey, there she is." He said with a low tone, pointing over to Lindsey. He nudged me a little, and I laughed. "Fine Davie, this might be the last time I'll ever talk to her." Davie gave me a laugh of relief, almost, and I sighed.

I caught up with Lindsey, and she was talking to a few of her friends. I said, "Hey" in a very quiet, shy voice. She laughed and asked me with delight, "What's up." I stuttered a little bit as I asked her politely, "Would you m-maybe want to go out sometime?" At that second my legs felt like they collapsed under me and I felt dizzy. She stopped in her tracks, and began to blush heavily. Her friends stepped away and giggled. I was about ready to piss my pants and walk away.

Lindsey locked eyes with me for a second. I felt like it was minutes, hours, it was in slow motion. I must have been shaking because she laughed a little bit. I noticed her slowly move towards me, in what felt like slow motion. The next thing I knew, my eyes were shut and we had locked lips. Her hands were on my chest and I could feel her pressing into me. I didn't think anything would ever top that feeling.

Lindsey smiled, stepped back, and responded. "Sure, I'll go out with you." She smiled while still blushing, and returned back to her friends. Davie walked up behind me and told me, with a chilled tone of voice, "Pretty good, Dan. You got yourself a date." I laughed and we both turned back and began walking to the parking lot.

My mom found me at my car and congratulated me. She still looked like she had a tear in her eye. She smiled to me as she said with a stuffed nose, "Your father would be so proud of you. I'm proud of you. You've gotten so far in life and it's amazing to see you grow. I'm very proud of you, Dan." I hugged my mom tightly, and shed a tear myself. "Thanks. You guys were so helpful along the way." She also said one last thing, with a little bit of laughter.

"I also see you've gotten your second girlfriend." I blushed a bit.
