Wendy's Point of View:
We've been staring for at least a minute, oh c'mon Wendy say something! Curse my socially awkwardness. Right, just be casual, he is just another human...
"Um Hi, I'm Wendy and I was uh just wondering about the job here?" Good enough. Harry smiled, he looked like he'd achieved something which confuses me majorly... We've never spoke before, he doesn't know me?
After what felt like forever he finally spoke, "Yes, making pancakes, what else?" He winked as he said the last bit earning a chuckle from me. We took a seat at the closest table and he asked the usual interview questions and I answered; soon enough he said I had the job! I tried to not smile like an idiot at the fact we'd be working together and I would be seeing him everyday. Snapping out of my daze, I realised Harry was speaking again, this time more nervously.
"I was uh just wondering um if you want to go out, maybe tonight? To celebrate you getting the job" He was twisting his ring as he awaited my answer. I couldn't believe it, Harry just asked me out. Harry Styles just asked ME Wendy Darling out... Its to celebrate Wendy, c'mon purely business. After realising she'd been planning the night in her head, she returned facing back to Harry and tried not to squeal when she replied, "Yes, tonight would be great"
"Great, I'll pick you up at 8"What would tonight bring?
Harry's Point of View:
What do I wear? Where do we go? Smart? Causal? I settled on a sheer black shirt from YSL and very tight skinny jeans, finished with a classic black ankle boot. I walked out to my Range Rover (Sport in black, what else?) and drove to the address Wendy gave me. I pulled up outside a pretty cottage with flowers growing around it, many different colours which took your breath away, very Wendy!
I walked up the path and knocked on the door, I was greeted with a blonde girl, slightly resembling Wendy.
"Is Wendy there?" I asked politely.
"Well well well, you must be Harry! She'll be down in a minute, now no kissing tonight please!" She said with a wink. She walked off leaving me confused... Did Wendy talk about me? I heard footsteps and looked up to see Wendy dressed in a little black dress (that would be a good song name) with a white shirt underneath and black wedges which I could tell she was trying not to fall over in. She looked gorgeous.
"Are you ready to stop staring or...?" She mumbled with a smirk on her face.
"Sorry, you just look, wow, beautiful" I managed to get out without sounding too breath taken. She blushed and we started walking out to my car, from her facial expression I could tell she was impressed. We climbed in and I put my iPod on, it was You Me At Six's album, 'Cavalier Youth'. I looked over to see Wendy beaming as she mouthed the words along, dancing in her seat.
"Didn't know you were into this music?" I asked and chuckled at her dancing.
"Are you kidding me? I love it! Louise and I always go to concerts and we met YMAS last year!" She replied with a big smile.
We pulled up to Jamie's Italian and got out the car making our way inside.
"The rooftop table please" I asked in hope they had fulfilled my request. As we followed the waitress up to the roof, I could see the glow from the fairy lights and the blanket area ready for when we had finished eating. I looked over at Wendy to see her face in complete awe, I smiled and guided her to the table, making sure she didn't slip.
Once we were seated she looked over to me and smiled while saying, "This is amazing Harry, I thought we'd just go to some bar and have a few drinks, I didn't not expect this!"
"You deserve a lot more than a bar with strangers smoking and drunk guys trying to hit on you; you are a lady and I believe that you should be with fairy lights and candles!" I replied, my smile equally as big as hers.
We ordered our food and drinks, non alcoholic as neither of us drink, and started getting to know each other better. Wendy was born on the 2nd of May 1996, her favourite colour is duck egg blue, her favourite book/movie is Peter Pan (where her name comes from) and she loves bacon and music! She also has a love for gay people but that just made me chuckle, her best friend is gay so I'm sure she loves that!
After eating and chatting, we made our way over to the blanket and led down next to each other, not too close but close enough.
"This is the part of the night where we drink champagne and I quote The Fault In Our Stars but as neither of us drink I'll just save the quotes for the next date" I said quietly, hoping she'd catch on to the last thing I said.
"John Green is my second favourite author, feel free to quote him!" She said excitedly and then quickly added, "I guess I'll hear them next time..."
I smiled proudly at the fact she wanted a next time too but was quickly broken out of my trance by a frantic Wendy. "Its eleven! Louise is going to kill me for getting home late! I bet she's worrying and I left my phone in your car, oh my!" she was scrambling around putting her shoes on and pulling me up from the ground. I quickly paid with my contactless card, earning a scoff from Wendy and her saying its so pretentious.
After a short drive of listening to The Maine we arrived at her pretty cottage and turned to look at each other.
"Thank you Harry, tonight was truly amazing and was way more than I expected" She smiled widely.
"Its what you deserve Wendy, next time will be even better, just you wait!" I winked at her, earning a giggle. She got out the car and ran up her path until she turned around and gave me a smile and a wave, I smiled back and started to drive off.I feel so alive.
