Chapter 23

"What's wrong?" I sat closer to Shigaraki, confused. He's been grumpy all day.

"They got Kurogiri." He holds onto the hand on his face, turning from me.

"So you're gonna act like a two year old and pout?" I put my hand on his shoulder. He takes a deep breath but I continue talking before he can go off on me. "Why don't we go do something? Take a day off."

"A day off? What would we do?" He turns towards me, still holding onto the hand.

I reach for him and gently remove it. "Anything you want." I give him my sweetest smile.

He considers it for a while. Soon I start to think he won't say anything. "What do you want to do?"

I smile again. "There's a beach near here, right?"

I spin around, happy. Toga and I went out and stole some bathing suits and we look hot. Well Toga more so than me.

Toga squeals and drags me towards the water. I laugh and run with her. I don't think I've had this much fun for a while. She leans in close, whispering in my ear. "Shigaraki was totally checking you out!"

I look back in his direction. I practically had to wrestle him into those shorts. It was so funny, I nearly scratched him and he nearly killed me. But it worked, he's wearing them.

"Nah, he's just angry that I forced him into those." I point back at him, smiling. And then a strange thought comes to mind, Since when did Toga and I get all buddy-buddy...?

"I wish Izuku were here... He would totally flip over me!" She goes into full Toga blush mode.

"What is up with you two? He doesn't even- Nevermind. I don't want to know."

Dabi walks towards us, shoving his hands in his pockets. Despite our objections, he wouldn't change. "Why are we here?"

"We all needed a break. Enjoy it!" I grab his hand and swing around. I can't help it, the beach has always been my favorite place.

Compress joins us as Dabi leaves. "How did you get this beach to be completely deserted?"

I laugh again. I feel high... "That doesn't matter." I smile at him.

Compress joined us in beach wear. It makes me happy. Oh and there's Twice too. He runs over to Toga, lifting her up and running around. Spinner's pouting though. I don't know what his problem is.

I walk towards Shiggy. "What's wrong now?"

He looks at the ground, his toes scrunching in the sand. "Can't we go back?"

I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. "No, we can't. You need to try relaxing..." I look around and grab a beach ball Toga brought. "Here, let's play some volleyball. You know how?" I walk over to a net that's been left up from before I made everyone leave.

He reluctantly follows me. "What if I say no? Will that change your mind?"

"No, it won't." I kiss him on the cheek quickly. "Just try, for me?"

"Fine..."

I yell for the others to join. We split into groups, Dabi, Toga, and me against Shiggy, Twice and Compress. Spinner gets to be the ref. I explain the rules quickly and Toga starts us off with an epic serve.
