"Okay so are you in any pain?"

"No," Max was very short with his answer but at least he cooperated with her on their first-ever physical Therapy session together. But Eve could see right through his lie, his head was angled in a position comfortable to no one, his neck hurt and he was trying to hold his head in a way that it didn't.

She took note of his answer but also wrote down her own observation. "Are you very tense, like are you uncomfortable?"

"No."

His whole body screamed tense at her, not one part of him was relaxed.

"Okay, is there anything that you want to achieve this year?"

"I want to be the best version of myself." That was more than a one-worded answer and that excited Eve, but his statement also told her, that he didn't really care too much about his wellbeing but cared about his performance level.

He not only needed physical work but also a little mental help.

The Dutchman in front of her didn't want her help whilst he was in pain, and that says enough about his pride and character.

"Okay, Daniel, let's talk about your problems?"

Daniels's head snapped up as if he had been caught doing something he wasn't supposed to.

"Well, my hip hurts a little and my shoulders are tense I think." Eve nodded while writing it down in her notebook.

"What do I want to achieve? Huh. Maybe being as healthy as I can, mentally and physically."

"Okay, that's good. Do you want to do some exercises now or rather later, after your regular training?" The two men looked at each other and decided on a curt "later" and with that Max nearly jumped out of his seat.

After Eve was done noting everything down and putting the folders away she followed the boys to the other room where they were already running on a treadmill with an oxygen mask on to overview their oxygen intake.

The whole session went well, the boys were happily chatting between exercises and smiled more than Eve had seen them ever do.

It buffed down her confidence on making them feel comfortable in physiotherapy. They were so different here than they were with her.

Even max smiled in her general direction once or twice until she noticed the French woman, someone new in his work life, watch him.

His face went stoic real quick.

The multiple exercises really helped the dark-haired woman with her theory of Max's neck being in pain. No matter what he did he held his head in a weird way, trying to ease the pain himself.
