Alec's POV

Alec sat down with Jia Penhallow in her home and he was nervous. He wasn't planning to tell her but news travels fast especially in the Institute and Alec was definitely going to strangle whoever opened their mouths. Alec trusted her and it wasn't his gut that was telling him to trust Jia Penhallow, it was something else. Alec glanced at Magnus who was quietly entertaining Max and Rafael.

"So Alec Lightwood i'm suprised you came to me especially since-" Jia stopped and glanced down at his hand and Alec noticed and held out the palm of his hand and Jia examined his hand, gently touching his hand and he flinched slightly when she pressed harder and he felt the dragon shift slightly.

"Did you see that?" Alec asked.

"See What?" Jia asked and looked even closer, Alec frowned and saw that the dragon was still twitching slightly.

"It's moving. My Mark. The Dragon It's twitching inside its Egg." Alec said.

Jia stared at him confused, "Alec it's not moving. I just see the mark."

Alec sighed heavily, "I don't know how to explain but I can see the Dragon move and it twitches sometimes, like it's dreaming."

"Sounds like you have more than just a mark on your side but maybe it's bonding with you and just Don't realize it. That's the Bond between Dragon and a Human." Jia said.

Alec frowned slightly and Watched as Jia Penhallow got up from the sofa and walked over to a bookshelf, grabbing several books and they looked old, dusty and the spine of the books were ripped but they still looked interesting.

"That's all you have?" Alec asked and she frowned at him, "Yes. Dragonriders are ancient history and they haven't existed in a millennium until you.
So mostly everything about them is lost but I've kept because I don't like to throw away history. It would be a waste."

"But Ithuriel said I was last one in existence but I'm also the first one to appear and he said that-" Alec stopped unsure to tell Jia the next part because that was the one part he refused to tell the Clave that and and he hadn't even told the New Counsel that Jonathan was alive. He felt like a horrible person for not telling Magnus this but Alec knew that they both had enough on their plate and he didn't want it to overflow but it was a little to late for that, way too late.

"Magnus do you Mind to come over here? There's something I need to tell Jia and I want you to be with me when I tell her." Alec said and Magnus stared at him and he smiled gentle at his kids and Magnus whispered in their ears and they both took of running happily laughing until it faded as they went outside where Chairman meow was waiting for them and Magnus knew they would fine. Magnus stared into Alec's blue eyes and he knew what it was.

Magnus stood up and sat next to Alec and held his hand and Watched Him take a deep breathe and stared into Jia's eyes and he spoke, "Jonathan Morgenstern is alive and don't ask me questions because even I don't have of the answers right now and even Ithuriel doesn't even how he came back to live."

Jia stared at Alec in shock and she wanted to laugh it off but from the looks of it, he was telling the truth. Jia cleared her throat trying to process the thoughts that were going through her head.

"Jonathan alive? After all this time but they burned his body and he's alive?"

"Yes. I don't know where he's at but Ithuriel told me he's alive." Alec said and Jia realized that she had said those thoughts out loud.

"I believe you but unfortunately you're going to have to tell the Clave and the heads of the New York Institute."

Alec gritted his teeth in frustration and he felt Magnus squeezed his hand.
This wasn't what he wanted to burden every Shadowhunter with his problems.

"Okay. But first I need to see those books and do you Mind watching Max and Rafael for a bit? Chairman meow wouldn't mind the company."

Alec said with a smile on his face and Jia smiled back and stood up walked out of the house leaving Magnus and Alec alone. Alec sighed heavily and grabbed one of the books and he glanced at Magnus who gave him a smile and he opened the book and saw that the Words were dusty and old. He saw images of Dragons and War raging on.

"How is this even possible?" Alec asked and Magnus could hear the fear in his voice and he snapped his fingers and blue sparks flew from his hands and onto the the books. They shifted and Alec grinned, seeing they were brand new but still retained some of its old looks and that was a good thing because maybe Alec could bring this stuff to the Institute and the Academy.

"Thank you Magnus." Alec said and watched as Magnus's eyes shifted into cat like eyes and that made his heart beat faster than normal, he loved those eyes more than anything.

"Well. We better start reading. You have a lot to Learn about being a Dragon Rider." Magnus said and Alec nodded.

"Let's do this."
