"Wow, it's so pretty," the little girl with blue-black hair exclaimed wondrously, holding up a beautiful blue necklace with a heart-shaped hope diamond pendant.

"That is an heirloom passed down from mother to daughter within the Phantomhive family for generations. It's yours now Celeste. Make sure you take good care of it, okay?" A blonde woman said, holding Celeste in her lap.

"I will momma," Celeste giggled as her mother helped her put the necklace on.

"My turn, my turn," a little boy cheered as he walked in with a raven-haired man.

"Of course. Can't forget about you, now can we Ciel?" The man said with a smile.

"Poppa!" The children cheered, running to the man and hugging his legs. The woman chuckled as she watched on, while the man struggled to keep his balance.

"R-Rachel, little help here?" The man stuttered, while Rachel just chuckled.

"Kids, why don't we let your father sit down before-" Rachel trailed off as the dog came running in, accidentally knocking the man over as he pushed through the doorway. Everyone burst out laughing as the dog jumped onto the couch, before laying down and putting his head on his paws.

"Silly, Sebastian." Rachel scolded with a laugh, petting his head. Rachel looked up as she heard a slight groan.

"Are you okay, Vincent?" She asked, turning around only to burst out laughing; the kids had let go of his legs and were now sitting on his stomach.

"I will be once these two get off," Vincent huffed, as he unsuccessfully tried to get Celeste off of his right arm while attempting to get Ciel to let go of the other one.

"Come on kids, let your father get up," Rachel commanded sternly. Celeste pouted and reluctantly moved to the couch.

"Thank you, my love. Now then, I think it's time for a certain someone to open his birthday present," Vincent said as he got up and dusted himself off.

Ciel grabbed the present off of the table and eagerly began to open it, digging into it with the excitement of all young children.

"It's a chess set," he cheered, holding up the old and battered box, while Vincent smiled.

"This is the chess set my father gave to me when I was about your age. You want to play?" Vincent asked.

Ciel nodded excitedly and ran over to the table.

~~~~A few hours later~~~
"Yay! I won!!" Ciel cheered. Celeste high-fived him as Vincent looked at the board in confusion.
"Well aren't you a little natural?" Rachel said, ruffling his hair, as a maid walked in.
"Master's, it's eight o'clock," she said with a polite curtsy. Rachel smiled in response and politely thanked the maid.
"Alright you two, come on, time for bed," Rachel called, and Ciel and Celeste obediently jumped down to begin walking to their rooms with the maid. After putting on her nightgown, Celeste climbed into bed and patiently waited for her parents to come say goodnight. As she waited, Celeste thought she heard something outside of her room. Celeste climbed out of bed cautiously and walked towards the window, only to hear something shattering before she was showered with sharp shards of glass.
Celeste cried out in fear as she staggered backwards, her arms raised defensively. She could hear shouting coming from outside, and felt terror mingle with the stinging pain from cuts the glass had caused.
"Quick, get the girl!" Celeste heard a voiced call out.
"Hold on! I need the needle first!" A second voice said.
"I'll just get her," the first voice growled. As the men continued arguing, Celeste began to run for the door.
"Momma! Poppa!" Celeste cried "Tanaka! Help!"
"Dammit! You idiots!" One of the voices snarled. "Grab her and let's get out of here before the Queens guard dog gets here." Before Celeste could reach the door, that same voice that had just called the others idiots approached with swift, sharp footsteps, and the butt of his rifle slammed into the back of her head with a sharp crack.
"Now let's get out of here," the man hissed, an unconscious Celeste in his arms as the men dashed out, leaving nothing but a ruined room and broken hearts as evidence to one young girl's existence.
When Tanaka finally arrived, Vincent and Rachel not far behind, the men had been swept away with the wind, Celeste with them.
I'm sorry!!!! this chapter was a little short. (Reader-Chan starts glaring) Okay fine, a lot short, but it will get longer, I promise!!!!
P.S. Celeste and Ciel look exactly alike except for the fact that Celeste has long hair, and is wearing a dress.
Me: Sorry it's taking so long to edit everything. School is such a pain!
LightningStarborne: Don't blame school, you've just been lazy when emailing me the drafts.
Me: Well Sorry!! This is my friend and editor LightningStarborne. She (unfortunately) doesn't have a Wattpad account, but she does use a different website for her Star Wars fanfics.
LightningStarborne: Star Wars for the win!!
Me: Anyway, I'm sorry and I'll try to hurry up and edit the book.
