"Are these really our only strongest members?"
Once we had arrived I tasked Koji with gathering my strongest members as well as listing the rest from weakest to strongest. I needed an accurate assessment of our group's current strength in order to properly plan out this attack. I couldn't exactly just rush in with a bunch of weaklings… that would guarantee my defeat.
I'm going to need a squad of skilled people with me. But, I didn't expect only two people would be shown before me. There are at least fifteen people in my group. Are most of them just plain street thugs or something?
"Y-yes, these two are considered the strongest." Koji, sensing my dissatisfaction, nervously replied.
"What about those that the previous boss kept close to him?"
"Well, they weren't considered strong in fighting per se. More like stronger in the flattering category..."
Seems like the previous guy liked to keep his ego big. Classic low tier villain attitude.
Well, I didn't expect much from a backwater group without even a name so I swallowed my dissatisfaction. I knew these two were going to be my best bet for a successful mission.
"Alright then, when I point at you tell me your name and Quirk"
"You can go first," I said pointing at the person on the left. Standing there was a white-haired girl, maybe around 16. She was on the taller side, maybe 5'8". She had a scar-like tattoo running down her neck and arm. She was half wearing a baggy jacket and had a pack of cigarettes visible in her pocket. But what was most noticeable was the numerous knives she had holstered around her body.
After scanning her I've come to the conclusion that her Quirk must have something to do with weapons. Either that or she's Quirkless but skilled with knives.
The white haired girl walked out from her side-by-side position and took a kneeling position before me.
And she has proper manners. She seems to be loyal to me. I can't be too sure though… This may be a ploy to gain my trust and stab my back.
"My name is Sam and I would prefer to be called by just that. My Quirk allows me a degree of control over objects with a sharp edge. The sharper the edge the more control I'll have."
She's keeping her last name hidden… I don't care too much as that doesn't matter to me as long as she is loyal I could care less about her past. Though maybe she has a relation to a pro… or just hates her family. But what really matters is her Quirk. It seems to be a control type Quirk, those types tend to be strong but I'll need a demonstration of it.
"Alright, Sam, show me your Quirk."
Looking around the room I direct Koji to stand at the far wall. Gaining a hint of what's about to happen he starts to fidget but a sharp look from me was all it took from him to follow my orders. Once he's in position I have him hold out his hands and place two bubbles on either one with the final one being just above his head.
"Pop every bubble at once. If you can do that then you'll be with me in our upcoming job." I said, walking back to stand next to Sam.
Looking at Koji's face he seems to be on the verge of tears, sighing I tell Sam, "Oh, try not to kill him."
Nodding Sam gets into position taking out three knives. I wonder how she defines control; Is her aim extremely accurate? Or does the knife become as natural as using a body part?
Instead of throwing them like I thought she would, she tosses them into the air. While the knives are spinning she points forward and instantly all the knives pause in the air and aim at Koji. With a nudge of her wrist, all the knives fly directly at the bubbles placed on Koji. They pierce directly through each bubble and stick against the wall behind them.
Sam looks towards me and flashes a proud grin while Koji collapses on the ground in a mess of sweat and nervous laughter.
She has a useful Quirk. I just need to confirm some things.
"Do you need to make a physical motion in order to move the knives?"
"No, but using my arms to direct them makes it easier."
"What about the drawbacks?"
"As I said earlier I need the object to be razor-sharp for the best control over it. And since it's more a mental-based Quirk I get a splitting headache from overuse."
"I see, work on using your Quirk purely from your mental power from here on. We don't need heroes noticing choreographed movements."
She dumbly stared at me for a little bit before responding, "Yes, boss."
I guess it's because I'm so young. Your average ten-year-old wouldn't be using these words or acting this way. Though it doesn't matter, they'll get used to it.
"It's your turn now." I say, looking at the next person. I could see he was the same boy who looked only a little older than me.
"My name is Haru and my Quirk is Siphon. It allows me to siphon strength off of other people to use as my own."
"That's a powerful Quirk. There must be a harsh drawback."
"Right, If I take too much energy than my body can handle I get a heart attack. Also! If I don't use up the stored energy quickly my body could explode." He complements his words by mimicking an explosion with his hands.
"But most of the time my body just gives out and I enter a state of paralysis." He adds.
These two are very useful. I can have Haru charge in and deal as much damage as he can while weakening the enemy then have Sam finish them off. Looks like I've found a knight and a rook among my group.
Just to confirm I asked how old each of them was. Haru told me he was 13 and for Sam, 15.
"You all are rather young to be living a life of villainy," Koji muttered.
"Grab some costumes we can wear. We'll be attacking tonight." I ordered, ignoring his words.
"Tonight? Isn't it too soon?" He questioned
"We only have a limited amount of time till the stuff is transferred. They're not going to stay in the same place for long."
"Where are we attacking, boss?" Sam asked, looking between the two of us.
"I'll fill you two in with the rest of the group. But for now go and gather everyone in the main hall."
