Chapter 5
Where are they, I swear they were just here a minute ago. I have been looking everywhere for my box of stuffed animals. Mi amado and I have been moving into our new place for a few hours now. I finally have gone through the majority of boxes that we brought with us on the move. I look around for the box I put all the plushies in but they are nowhere to be found. I went back to the moving truck that we rented to see if I had left them inside.
I open the sliding door of the truck and I see boxes of bed sheets, dishes, and extra pillows but no plushies. I sigh to myself and get down from the truck to look back inside the house. As I close the door to the back of the truck I see Kokayne peak around the side with a smile on his face. "Hey malishka, what are you looking for?" He said this a little too happily for my taste. We looked at each other and I can see from his little smirk that he was up to something. Every time he did something to prank me he would always come up to me acting all innocent and cute towards me.
"Ok, what did you do with them? I will hurt you if you do anything with my plushies." he starts to snicker when I say this and he slowly starts backing away from me and sprints off into the house. I run after him and follow him up the stairs to our bedroom. I corner him by the bed and the side window, "babe seriously I know you did something with my box Kokayne." he just started laughing at me like this is the funniest thing in the world. "Ok, ok I will give you a hint as to where the box is. The hint is that it's in a place that only I can reach." he couldn't stop smiling as he said this.
This boy can be such a little asshole sometimes I thought to myself. We haven't been here for that long so he wouldn't know too many places to hide the box from me. I start looking on top of the closets, food pantry, and even the attic but still nothing. I go back to Kokayne, who is now in the living room filling the shelves with books. I go up behind him and slap him on the ass with the ruler that was left in the box next to him. "Ouch babe what was that for" he was rubbing his butt in the place that I hit him at.
I gave him a serious stare down and soon he got the message. He looked defeated when he saw my expression on my face. I took my hand and led me outside toward the moving truck parked in the driveway. I stopped me right behind the truck and stood on the back of the truck. I couldn't tell what he was about to do but I kept looking to see what schemes he came up with this time. He held onto the top of the truck and climbed onto the roof of the truck. If he actually put all my plushies up there I am going to kill him, I thought to myself as I waited for him to come back.
He comes back with a large moving box in his hands and on the front I see the word plushies written out in dark black marker on the box. He tells me to watch out as he drops the box to the ground with a loud boom sound that comes with it. "Mierda, nene, ¿estás tratando de destruir mis peluches?", go to look inside and make sure that none of them got any marks on them that I would have to clean up later. Kokayne climbed back down from the truck and walked towards me very cautiously "look babe it was just a prank ok I promise no harm came to the plushies", he held his hand over his heart and his other hand in the air like he was being sworn into the presidency.
I pick up the box of plushies and bring them inside to get a better look at the damage if there was any from the tactics that come from being handled by my boyfriend. I bring the box to the living room and open the box and see for myself if nothing got dirty. I can feel Kokayne's presence behind me and I think he can also feel the glare I am currently giving him even if he can't see it.
As I go through the box and pull out most of the animals I see that most of them don't have much on them. Then I reach the last few of the plushies and I see my Favorite one with scratch marks and tire prints on the face of it. I turn around and throw the animal at Kokayne and walk away. I go up stairs to the bedroom and lock the door.
