*Buzz Buzz *

I slowly opened my eyes to see the time was 8:40am, I started work at 9am.

Shit.

I shot out of bed , running to my bathroom. Soon as I brushed my teeth it was now 8:45am. Grabbing my uniform, I ran out my apartment heading for the stairs - I'll just get dressed at work - I thought to myself as I exited my building.

"Morning , Miss Bennet." said Dave as I ran past him. Dave was the lobby / doorman at my building , a sweet 79 year old man , he had been here a couple years before I had moved in. He was like a 2nd father figure to me, someone who I get along with.

"Morning Dave, don't work to hard!" I replied as I opened my car door , putting my clothes in the backseat.

"I have to work hard, who else is going to open the door? and shouldn't you be at work already?" I looked at my phone. 8:53. I nodded as I entered my car. He's a little stubborn man he is, but I love him. - I thought to myself as I drove off.

I turned the corner to see an empty parking space, luckily the coffee shop was only 10 minutes away. I parked, jumping out of the car clothes in my hand. Rushing in the coffee shop door , just to see my mum staring at her watch.

"And....late again Cora." she stated looking up at me. I walked past her heading towards the bathroom.

"Sorry mum, my alarm didn't go off ...again." I replied shutting the bathroom door. Once I was dressed I exited the bathroom to  see my dad with a unimpressed look upon his face. As usual. "Sorry " was all I could say to him. I walked past him, putting my stuff in the backroom.

"Your always late, your sister is never late you should be more like Alice for once!" he followed me. And there it was, me being compared to my difficult sister, Alice. Alice was the youngest meaning my dad always saw her as a 'not guilty' princess even though she wasn't. When I was 17 and she was 15 I had to sneak her back into the house , or the time when she got a boyfriend ( when she can't have one until I had one , its one of my fathers rules) So he always favourited her more then me. She got everything she asked for but on the other hand I was the oldest so I had do everything for myself.

"She never late because she still lives with you, even though she 25 you take her to work." I was getting pissed off now. " At least I have my own apartment, with my own money." I stepped out the back room , bumping into my sister with a innocent smile across her face - god I could just slap her.

I got to the front desk, getting ready for the day ahead. The coffee shop where I worked was a family business passed down through my mum's side of the family. Once my grandad sadly died, my mum and my aunt got the shop. Aunt Harriet didn't want the coffee shop - we never knew why she didn't want it. So my mum got it. The shop was located on a small street with different shops surrounding it - like a flower shop, bakery, tiny clothe shop-. Not many people come to the shop but we didn't really mind.

"Did you get ' you should be more like your sister ' comment again?" my mum asked as she cleaned the tables.

"Yep and I wish he would stop it" I mumbled the last bit so she wouldn't hear it. As my father was always being blinded by my sister 'perfectness' mum was always with me, my best friend.

                                                                       Few hours later

Finally, it was time to go home and sit and do nothing else for the rest of the night. We only had the regulars come in, like everyday. I began to tidy up when the bell on the door dinged.

"Sorry, we are about to close." I said looking away. The person was about to leave when my mum said "It's fine, come in." I looked at her with a confused face, but all she gave me was a smirk - why would she give me a smirk? And why would she let the customer in when we are about to close? - I thought to myself.

I turned around to see a man , a tall brunette man.

"What would you like?" I asked. The man look at the notice board for the coffee choices ; no wonder my mum let him stay.

"Uhm, can I please get a ice coffee?" he asked looking at me in the eyes. I nodded as I turned around to make the coffee. I could feel him still staring at me. I handed his ice coffee to him , he was still looking at me our eyes were locked for a good second. His eyes where like a chocolate pool, he had moles all over his face, his hair scruffy but still cute. But that moment was ruined when he paid and left..

I turned around smiling.

"So?" my mum asked coming from the back room.

"So, what?" I replied a little bit confused.

"What do you think of that customer?" she walked towards me.

"He was cute , but he probably won't come here again.."

"Who's cute?" my dad asked as he walked out the back room with Alice.

"No one." I pushed past them heading into the backroom, grabbing my stuff. He was saying something else but I couldn't hear him. I said bye to my mum and headed back to me apartment.

Today was stressful, but the only thing I could think about was the man...

Who was he?

Would he come back?

What was his name?
