Science has no explanation

Namjoon opens his eyes to chaos.

Oh, everyone is being very quiet and orderly on the outside (it is a hospital). But underneath the panic comes through loud and clear. The doctors keep using big words that He doesn't understand in English.

Apparently he's still in LA? Although the main doctor explaining things has an accent he can't place. And keeps saying things that sound like they are right out of a webtoon. Or a marvel movie.

He's been unconscious for 3 days. And a LOT had happened in that time. Everyone's flights back to South Korea have been canceled. And he's perfectly healthy but his body has de-aged 8 years. There's been an international incident because of it. High definition Footage from the security cameras at the museum were all over the internet.

Everyone and their mama could see him spontaneously loose about 40lbs of muscle and regrow one of the worst mistakes of a hairstyle he'd ever had. Not to mention his nose was back to its old shape before the corrective surgery and he was having trouble breathing with his mouth shut.

Bangtan's doctor that always came on tour with them was the one who filled in the specifics in Korean. He waited till the other doctors left the room to turn to Namjoon and say quietly that he was perfectly healthy and although what happened was very strange everything was going to be all right.

Tears prickled at his eyes but he blinked them away. The doctor helped him call and speak to his eomma. She stayed very positive and told him they weren't allowed to travel yet but as soon as they were she would be right there.

She didn't say why they couldn't travel but he didn't think it was just Covid restrictions.

There were people in suits with official badges that were definitely not doctors that asked him a lot of questions some of which he needed translated because although he could speak English well they were using technical words he'd never heard before.

Hours later they brought hospital food which was bland rubbery chicken and mushy broccoli. Namjoon had never missed Korean food more in his entire life. It had been a really long time since he had been this hungry, the crazy dieting they did before they debuted that left him feeling hollowed out and light headed was back. He ate the chicken.

He asked when he could leave the hospital. It took a while before anyone would answer. But it was finally explained that he could leave the hospital as soon as the next day with an out patient plan that involved the doctors at the hospital, specialists and the Hybe doctors all cooperating but that he couldn't leave the country to fly home yet.

He could stay with the rest of BTS and staff at the hotel they were staying at for the concerts with additional security provided by the South Korean embassy until the situation was resolved.

No one said how the situation would be resolved.

He did sleep that night mostly because a nurse gave him a sleeping pill. But he dreamt about filming the music video for NO. about being on the set with all the white walls and extras in uniforms that tried to make him take pills he didn't want to take.

And he felt again what it felt like to have big dreams.
