"Hurry up, Jinah!" Jonah yells out to the girl from the living room.As usual, Jinah pats down on her nose, her powdered white ball creating a matte look. She hummed the beat to her favorite song, not a single worry about being late that morning.
"I'll leave you behind!" He yells one more time.
"Stop being annoying! I'm almost done!" The girl scoffs, grabbing her bag from her bed. The black bag wasn't made for the exact purpose of carrying school items but it spiced up her outfit a bit, and it needed a ton of spicing up. "How do I look?" The girl asks as she finishes touching up her straightened hair, popping her lips, tinted chapstick popping out slightly.
"Ugly. Can we go? Gyeong-su's gonna be here any minute."
The girl's eyes lighten up at the mention of the chaotic boy. "Is he coming now?"
"Yeah, said something about getting out before Na-yeon." He mumbles, still tired. His eyes were droopy, hair sticking out from the top of his head. It was a silly look which he had oddly perfected. Everyone loved it, and by everyone, it was most definitely the girls who did. They swooned over his tired look and it often let Jinah puzzled. But she couldn't exactly call him ugly, surely they weren't identical twins because of the differing genders but Cheong-san would tell her she'd look exactly like Jonah if she just cut her hair. It often left her to chasing him through the yard of the school.
Making way out of the building, she can't help but smile at hearing the familiar whoops of laughter and joy coming towards the gated community.
Jonah, the type of boy who always carried a bored expression on his face couldn't help but smile as his friends hopped over the black gate.
"Jinah!" A familiar voice calls through the air, making the twins share a look before turning to see Na-yeon in her familiar pink cardigan. "Let's walk to school together!" She calls out.
"On the count of three, we run." Jinah can't help but whisper to her twin, the dread of having to walk with the girl was all too much to bear. She hadn't been the worst person to Jinah, at least not since Jinah accumulated all her popularity, and she was happy for it. But that wasn't to say she liked how poorly she treated the other kids at school. The entirety of Hyosan High was her breeding ground for outrageous rumors and she had to shut her up a few times.
"One... two —"
"Three!" Jonah yells, chasing after his group of friends who were being chased by the family security guard who patrolled the grounds at morning.
"You traitor!" Jinah calls out to the boy in a fright as she begins to chase after him. Na-yeon is left behind calling out to Jinah, whining about walking on her own. But that was none of the girls concern who was now racing Gyeong-su who was left behind the group.
His familiar red backpack flaps on his back as their shared laughter fills the air. It doesn't take long for the two of them to rush onto the school grounds, the big apartments granting a better way of entry to the place of learning.
"You cheated!" Gyeong-su yells out to the girl as she pants, dropping herself onto the fresh patch of green grass. The sweatpants under her skirt was enough to protect her from itching all day, but there would no doubt be grass stains. The idea of the sweats used to bother her, only worsening her already hideous uniform, but they helped her a ton and she was grateful enough they allowed it.
"I-I, I didn't cheat! You-You're just slow!" She pants out, dabbing at the dribble of sweat that fell down the side of her face.
"Cheater." The boy pants out, helping Jinah up off the ground. With a laugh, she falls into him, arm drooped around his shoulders, and he doesn't push her off, rather he lets her support herself despite his own aching body.
