The Beginning of It All

I drop my books in front of Jeremiah, He picks them up and hands them to me, he says "you should be more careful" then he walks away, I was stunned; I was new to the school, then the
bell rings and I rush to go to class, Surprisingly he was in the same class as I, we sit next to each other, The teacher calls my name "Marvin booker" I say "here" then it's Jeremiah's turn "Jeramiah Hunter'' He responds with "Here". After a while we get to know each other, Since we are so close kids start to think we are gay, Jeremiah keeps saying he's not but I am, I am gay he doesn't know that I really care about him. One night after school we meet in a park nearby, The sky was a light blue with a gradient of pink, the air was cool but not that cool, It was perfect for what was about to happen, I open my mouth but before I say anything he says "Marvin, I-I've known you for a long time and I think its time I tell you", he stares into my eyes and says "I-I I'm gay" My mouth drops in disbelief, but before I say anything, He runs away from me.....

Jeremiah was dazed; he ran away from the only love he's ever known. Marvin. The boy who gave him butterflies in his stomach everytime he smiled. The boy who comforted him on his worst days and helped him stay happy on his best. Was he really running away from that or the fear that Marvin would reject him?. He had all too much to think about so he went straight to his house not even bothering to talk to his mother. The next day he was in his favorite hoodie, good for crying and weird moments. As he went to his seat he heard a voice calling out to him. It was Marvin. He looked bashfully at Jeremiah and said " Are you okay, why did you run away yesterday?". Are you okay was the sentence Jeremiah hated most. Was he okay when his father ran out for the milk? Was he okay when his mom couldn't afford to care for him? No. But did anyone ask him that? Yes they had but it was overly annoying and too much to bare.  He said nonchalantly " I'm fine". Marvin says in a caring way "Do you want to talk about what happened?'. Just as he asked that question an all too familiar face of one of our classmates came over. They say "What happened?". Jeremiah sees Marvin about to answer and shouts the first thing he can think of "Marvin's gay". As this is said the whole class starts coming over. His classmates start circling Marvin and  Laughing  at Marvin saying things such as "gay" or  "homo". After they're done with Marvin they come to Jeremiah. One of them says "Hey I didn't know your friend was a homo". Jeremiah looks over his shoulder and see's Marvin looking upset and pitiful into Jeremiah's eyes. But as you can see Jeremiah has new friends now and doesn't need Marvin so he swallows his gut feeling and says "yeah im not friends with that homo anymore"

Later that day Marvin comes home, heartbroken over what happened, he cries to himself. "W-why did he say that? Why? WHY?" Says Marvin as he lays on his bed, his face buried in his pillow crying.*Notification sound* Marvin sees the notification. The text read, "Hey Marvin, I'm really sorry about what happened, could we be friends again?" Marvin, still heartbroken, responds "NO. NOT AFTER WHAT YOU DID, I TRUSTED YOU, AND YOU BROKE THAT, YOU SAID YOU WERE GAY WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT ABOUT ME?" Jeremiah texts back "I really care about you, but I'm not ready to be out." Marvin texts back, "I'm done being friends with you, goodbye." The next day at school, Marvin ignores Jeremiah but it's hard because every time their eyes meet Marvin comes back to all the hate and anger he has pent up towards Jeremiah. When school ends, Jeremiah walks up to Marvin and decides to say something but before he says anything, Marvin puts the middle finger and walks away. Even though he knew he deserved it, Jeremiah stood in shock and sadness as Marvin walked away. Marvin was feeling quite bittersweet as Jeremiah was definitely in the wrong but he still had feelings for him and deep ones at that. 3 days later, Marvin decides it's time to put his feelings aside and finally decides to talk to Jeremiah at the park they met at before. He meets Jeremiah there and decides to talk first Marvin says "Hey I-" but before he could say anything Jeremiah hugs Marvin, Marvin could feel his face turning red, as Jeremiah pulls him in tighter Marvin can feel his feelings for Jeremiah creeping back in. Then Jeremiah says "It's kinda cold right?" "Yeah," says Marvin as his teeth quiver, Jeremiah laughs and gives him his hoodie," T-thank you," says Marvin. Marvin looks into Jeremiah's eyes as he puts on the hoodie, his bald head swirling with thoughts leans in. But then Jeremiah backs away "What dude you're actually gay?!". Marvin looks at him in shock "Oh um I-I can explain" says Marvin nervously. "Marvin, are you gay?" says Jeremiah. "No, I was just testing you hahaha.." Says Marvin. "Wait, I thought you were gay?" Says Marvin. Jeremiah responds "NO it was a prank to see how you would react hahaha.". "But why did you run then?" Marvin says confused. "Because I thought it would be weird haha." Jeremiah laughs nervously. Marvin responds with " Then why did you lie about me being gay I thou-". "Actually, my mom is calling me bye Marvin," Jeremiah says interrupting. Marvin is left there in the park confused, "WAIT YOUR HOODIE-" but it was too late Jeremiah had already left. Marvin walks home trying to process what had just happened. But while he was walking, he bumps into Jeremiah. They fall on top of each other, "WTF" they both yell "I'm sorry." says Marvin as he collects himself but Jeremiah had already started running home. When Marvin gets home he realizes something "OMG I STILL DIDN'T GIVE HIM HIS HOODIE IM SO STUPID," Marvin thinks. Later on that night, Marvin notices stuff on the sweater. Small stuff. Like the way it wraps his body just right and has such a nice design. It was perfect, the perfect color blue and the perfect zigzag pattern. It had even reminded him of hugging Jeremiah in the park and how nice it felt.
