It's All My Fault

The days after the ordeal was decent, but I can't count how many times Grace has constantly reprimanded us. Every. Single. Day. Five and I were back to original training alone. Yes, I feel bad for the incident but I am more worried about the consequences. Reginald had been ignoring us, all of us; and it was all my fault.

"Ugh, I'm so stupid," I say walking into my room,
"Why didn't I listen to Five?!" I say plopping onto my bed
"Well, for starters you're a hotel head." I hear behind me. I know exactly who it is, "Well, hello Number Five." I pause for a brief second then continue and say as I sit up, "How are you?"
"Alright, if you count the constant reprimanding by Grace," he says smiling. I sigh, "I am so sorry about that, I didn't mea-" he shakes his head. "No, you don't need to apologize." He walks over to me, "I should have just left it alone. If I just didn't care I could have controlled it." I say.

"Not everyone has mastered their power here, you just need to forget about it. Did you get in trouble? Yes. Did you get me into trouble? Yes. Did you mess up-"

"Great pep talks too far" I interrupt, "My point is, you just need to forget about it." he finishes. "Easier said than done." I whisper, "I'll help," He says sitting next to me, "Why would you? I've already hurt you enough." I ask.  He bumps me on the shoulder and says, "Remember that time when I said you were perfect?" I nod. He just smiles and chuckles.

The bell rings for training to begin. I quickly stand up and walk to the doorway. "Well," I say, "Let's go." Five sits on the bed for a second, I look over at him. "You coming?" Five chuckles, shakes his head, and follows behind me.  I walk into the room where I normally train for the day. And to my surprise, Reginald was sitting on the chair that was in the corner of the room. "Oh, Hi dad," I say as I walk over to my first exercise (for training) "Ahh Number Eight I need you to show me something," he says sitting very calmly.
"Ok? What would you like me to do?" I say as I cautiously step towards him.
He raises an eyebrow and says "I need you to show me how powerful you can make your energy ball." I tried to hide my stunned expression as best I could. "Uh okay." I inhale, "But what if I hurt you?" I say just standing in the middle of the room.
"You won't hurt me." He said with no expression on his face. I look at his face and raise my eyebrow then I begin to try
"Ok, here we go," I start to make a small energy ball in my hands easy for me to control.
"Good, Number Eight keep going" even though I knew I could, I did not want to. "I can't... Well not without losing control."
"Number Eight Keep going, you need to adapt!" Reginald said with his voice rising. "I don't want to hurt you!" I say my voice rising. "Do it!" He yells, "You will do it!"
"No, I can't!!" I screamed as the energy ball enlarged and then explodes, Reginald jumps back from where he was standing.

I am blasted across the room and slammed against the wall. On impact, I was knocked unconscious. "Number Eight." Reginald says firmly, "Stand up,". He stands there until I gained my consciousness and then proceeded to tell me, "Again." I manage to stand back up and say
"Again?! What do you mean 'Again' I could have died and all you care about is my stupid powers," I stand there as my voice slowly starts to rise into a scream, "All you care about is our powers don't you?!"

Reginald starts toward me, I am scared of what he'll do but I don't care anymore. He stops right in front of me and slaps me across the face; he does it so forcefully I fall to the ground. I wince and stand up, "I don't care how many times you hit me, you care about nothing else except what we can do." Reginald steps past me and opens the door, "Out!" He yells. Fine, I was ready to leave. Ready to leave the Umbrella Academy, I am done with this family.

I walk out and run to my room, I slam the door shut and run to my bed. I needed some kind of relief, anything to stop the unbearable pain of this family. I hear a knock at my door, "Hey, Y/N?" Five says. I don't respond. "I know you're in there. I heard you come up, do you want to talk?"
