Chapter One: The Wish

I layed sprawled out on the couch, remote in hand. The TV screen flashed through numerous channels until it landed on one: Sonic Boom. Satisfied, I put the remote down and began to watch.

Yes, I am a HUGE Sonic the Hedgehog fan, so don't hate. By the way, my name's Cake (YES, like the food). Despite my friends, hardly knowing who Mario is, don't understand my obsessions. I continued to stare at the screen, and a wave of admiration came over me as Amy Rose came on the screen.

Yes, Amy is totally awesome. I've played her in a few games, and what really gets me is her confidence. From her pride to her foolishness, I enjoy her character.

Oddly, I sigh. My life is kind of monotonous. As a 14-year old girl, this isn't much of a surprise. Every day the same thing... Wake up, eat, school, go to sleep. Kind of wish I was someone different. Someone who has nonstop, exciting, never ending adventures.... Exactly like Amy.

I kind of wish I was her.

I silently laugh to myself for my weirdness. But hey, everyone's got a dream.

That's exactly when it happened. The air seemed to move and shift, as if there was a rip in the fabric of the universe. I blinked. Really strange. Then, it moved again. I slowly got up and moved towards it but was thrown back by a sudden burst. Shocked, I stared. Right in front of my eyes, a big, dark hole ripped open. I screamed in panic, but no one would have heard me anyway. I was home alone. My mom and Dad were out, and my brother was at some friend's house.

An incredibly strong wind whipped at my long, brown hair. I gasped in surprise as the wind forced me off my feet like a ragdoll and with great power shoved me into the hole. Then that was that. The portal had disappeared as quickly as it had opened. Not so easy for me though. Everything is dark...
