Amy..... Wa .... Up.

Get up......

Amy.

I opened my eyes. Everything was blurry... My first thought was that I needed glasses. Then it all came back to me. I blinked a few times to get rid of the blur. I found I was lying on the ground, with a concerned looking Tails and Sonic hovering over me. Oh yeah. I smiled. I forgot about that, too.

"Ah! She's awake!" Tails leaned in... A bit too close. I took my hand and shoved his face back.

"Personal space," I muttered. Sonic grinned. I could see he was still bloodied and bruised from the big battle.

"Good thing she hasn't changed."

I sat up. Actually... "Uh... Sonic, Tails..." they looked at me curiously. "Please don't freak out, okay?"

Sonic smirked. "Well, if you say that, I'm pretty sure we will."

"Veeery funny. Anyway... Well, what I'm trying to say is... I am not Amy Rose."

They both blinked and looked at each other. "Kay ... Looks like I'll have to explain..."

I told them everything. How my real name's Cake. How I was sitting on the couch, watching TV (But not the part about me watching Sonic Boom. I didn't want to sound like a stalker or something...), and my wish to be Amy and how the portal opened up. Then, how I had got into this world and how Tails found me.

When I was finished, Sonic and Tails said nothing. So, I added on, "I... I kind of wish I was back. Back in my own body and back in my boring life." Sonic looked up. "You can."

Before I could give him a what-that's-weird look, I saw it again. The ripple. I stared hard at it. This time, it opened up more slowly and carefully than last time. I stared in amazement at it. Sonic took my hand and led me by it. "Wait."

Sonic looked at me. "Yeah?"

I stared at him. "Um ... Yeah. You know, everything. Trying to save me and all..." lost for words, tears filmed my eyes as I pulled both him and Tails in a giant but gentle bear hug. "Thanks." With that, I jumped into the portal and into the darkness....

I opened my eyes for the third time. I looked around. Yep. Back home. I looked at the TV screen and saw that Sonic was still on. I must haven't been gone for as long as I thought.... Unless all of this was a dream. I decided to believe that. I walked into the bathroom and stared into the mirror. I grinned, and so did the girl in the reflection. Yup. I'm me again. Good old Cake. I have to say, I missed me.

I walked back into the living room and plopped down on the couch. I looked around the room for any signs of difference. All normal. Dream or not, I missed here. Glad I'm here in my own body. And my own world. Just before I closed my eyes and dozed off, I swear I saw the air shift.

Just a Dream.... Only a dream.
