Chapter 1 (Saturday, September 21st, 2011, 5:03 pm) Lyric was finishing up on her college lessons on her computer, American History to be exact, gently bouncing Scarlett on her leg to keep her content. Scarlett babbled gibberish words while she chewed on her Bunny plushie. "I wonder where Aunt Anastasia is with that damn coffee, oh yes I do." Lyric said in a babying voice and Scarlett quickly looked back at Lyric with pure confusion on her face. "Ann Ann?" Scarlett asked softly. Lyric smiled down at her and tucked a lock of hair away behind her hair, nodding in response before speaking "Yes baby, Aunt Anastasia. She's supposed to be bringing the drink that keeps your mother alive and well for you." Lyric explained and watched Scarlett just stare at her, her face melting away into confusion. "Why am I explaining this to her like she can understand the words I'm saying.." She uttered to herself and pressed a gentle kiss into Scarletts forhead before paying back attention to her schoolwork.
Just a couple minutes later the door suddently swung open. Lyric glanced over with an annoyed expression because she knew just by the dramatic entrance that it was Anastasia, who stood in the doorway with a cheeky smile plastered on her face. "Your favorite friend is back!" Anastasia sung obnoxiously. Lyric rolled her eyes playfully and looked back at her computer, clacking on her keys irritably. "Ana, where is the coffee at? I only got an hour of sleep last night." Lyric said in dread with a quiet groan intertwined at the end of her sentence. "Why did you get such little sleep?" Anastasia questioned simply, shutting the door gently behind her in an attempt to not irritate Lyric any more than she already had. "She had a slight fever last night so I stayed up with her, but it broke this morning, thank god." Lyric murmured, "And stop being so damn loud." She stated and gave her a brief glare. Anastasia scoffing at the audacity. "I understand that you're Lyric Sterling and bitch is your middle name, but give me a break, I paid for your coffee." Anastasia pouted a little, "Says the one that lives here free of cost." Lyric uttered playfully and reached over the side of the couch balancing Scarlett, grabbing the coffee from Anastasias hand who stood there in shock. She pressed her lips together while she watched Lyric take a drink of her coffee, briefly nodding before daring to speak again. "Touché, even though I let you live with me first and I offer excellent childcare." Anastasia said under her breath and shut the door behind her, taking the seat beside of Lyric just to snatch her kid. "Why hello my favorite little girl! What have you been up to this evening?" Anastasia asked happily while she set her carefully in her lap, Scarlett turning to point to a drawing that sat on the coffee table. Anastasias eyes followed Scarletts motion and gasped softly, looking back at her. "Did you draw this?" Anastasia whispered as she reached out to grab it, observing it. "She worked very hard on it." Lyric observed and took a sip of her coffee. Anastasia smiled adoringly although it was just a mangled colorful mess of a flower. "Flower, for Ann Ann" Scarlett disclosed and poked her cheek, Anastasias lip beginning to pout at the realization. "For me?" Anastasia asked softly and Scarlett nodded, Anastasia gasping softly once again and pulling her into a hug, cradling her head. "Oh my little munchkin, you're so thoughtful." Anastasia whispered and held her tightly. She pressed a kiss into her head before leaning back to admire it again. "It's beautiful, you did such a great job." Anastasia praised her. Scarlett giggled and clapped her hands together happilg. Lyric smiled softly at the two briefly as she finished up the last of her schoolwork, gulping down a good amount of her coffee.
She sat back into the couch and sighed out an exhale, relieved to just get a moment to rest her eyes and hands. She was silent for a few seconds before her eyes shot back open when she remembered she now had to study for an upcoming exam. She groaned and sat back up, pulling the work up on her computer she began to go over it but paused slightly and thought for a moment in silence. She hesitantly looked over her shoulder and out the window at Troys house. She frowned as she stared at his house, then she shook it off, taking a drink of her coffee and turning back to the computer to begin to study for her exam. A few moments later Lyric caught herself looking back at Troys house again and groaned dreadfully. Stop it, leave him alone! She thought and groaned softly out of boredom.
