POV: 3rd Person
Everything was silent, nothing but silence. It was like one breath could set off an explosion. Holding your breath didn't feel horrible when you were waiting for something.
Everyone was ready for a fight. They stood tall and vigilant for whatever might come through the tear.
"We have to go... they will come soon." A red-haired girl with freckles and pointy ears spoke.
"I-I can't! Leave them all to die? What are we protecting if they die?" A brown-haired girl responded.
"Meridian! These people are already dead! We have to protect the living while we can! Don't you understand their lives rest upon this one spell?" The red-head girl explained, annoyed.
"Fine- " Meridian's words were cut off by the magical tear getting wider and screeching coming from inside.
"We're too late, there here!" A black-haired girl yelled.
"No! We have to get to the forest spot while we still can!" Meridian said hopefully.
"Then we better hurry! Solstice, use your magic to block the area!" The black-haired girl said with an authoritative tone.
"On it!" Solstice responded, running to the tear.
"Everyone! Get ready! Tellmoon will be here soon!" She said to the others around the area. They all put their hands in a certain position. Their eyes glowed as they readied their magic for a battle.
"Meridian and Sun follow me! We have to begin the spell." The black-haired girl said, turning towards her other two sisters, rushing to the start of the forest.
Meridian and Sun followed, but as they reached the forest, a magical bolt knocked the black-haired girl to the ground.
"Raven! Raven no!" Meridian ran to her sister, kneeling to the ground and looking at her eyes that glowed orange.
"What happened?" Sun flew quickly towards her sisters. Turning back around, she saw the others near the tear fighting the creatures that had come through. They were losing and had little time left.
Raven looked up at Meridian, her eyes were not filled with pain but with calm. She gently grabbed her hand as her eyes flowed with orange blood.
"Raven, please don't leave us when we are so close to finishing." Meridian whispered silently, resting her head on her sister's.
"T-take it, t-take my magic and put it on the spell's podium. Tellmoon can not get her hands on it." Raven said, choking on her words. As more orange blood flowed from her eyes, she grabbed Meridian's other hand. Her veins shined orange and the orange glow started moving into Merdian's veins.
"No- " Meridian gasped as Raven's head dropped to the ground.
"We have to go. They won't be able to hold her off for long," Sun said to her sister. Her eyes were watery from grief.
"But what about Solstice?" Meridian asked worriedly.
"Come on, it's Solstice. She can handle herself finely," Sun said confidently.
They hurried into the forest. The surrounding ground shook. The Ancestral Grounds won't be able to hold much longer.
They reached the spot. Other spell-casters stood around a circle podium that held four small and clear glass balls.
"Where's Solstice and Raven?" One spell-caster asked.
"Solstice is fighting near the tear and Raven- Raven didn't make it." Sun said in sorrow.
"I'm so sorry to hear, but this spell has to be done now or there won't be a now..." the spell-caster said seriously.
Sun and Meridian took their places in the circle.
"Someone needs to stand at the center, they will greet Frecha- " The spell-caster's words were cut off as Solstice walked in wounded.
"Solstice!" Meridian ran to her sister.
"I couldn't hold them off. She's coming." Solstice said seriously, holding her side where she was wounded.
They both got back into the circle as Merdian's sisters looked at her, suggesting to be the one to greet Frecha.
She slowly walked to the middle as the ground shook and some trees fell.
The spell-casters whispered words and all three of the sister's magic glowed where their veins were.
The sisters all looked at each other, knowing what would happen next. Their magic escaped through their eyes, Raven's magic escaping from Meridian's. Going into the small clear balls that were on the podium.
Meridian grabbed the four balls that were shining, representing the color of their magic. Green for nature, orange for fire, white for air, and her own, blue for water.
A magical circle spun around her as the Ancestral Ground faded into the living world. She blinked and was standing in front of a small cottage in the middle of a forest that looked loomy and dark.
"Hello?" Meridian called out.
She walked closer to the cottage door, knocking on it. An old woman opened it, smiling at the young lady in front of her.
"You must be Meridian, come, come." She waved her hand, asking for her to come in.
Meridian walked into the cottage. Looking around, it was very peaceful, and some potions were lined on the shelves.
"You must be Frecha and you are a
spell-caster?" Meridian asked the old woman."I am, and there aren't much of us left..." she said, stirring a spoon in a pot. It looked as if she was cooking something.
"Well- " the ground shook around her as the spell faded. Soon, the spell would end. She had little time left.
"I know. I will keep them safe from Tellmoon." Frecha said, taking the shining balls from her hands. She gently held Merdian's hand with her other hand.
"We thank you for everything." Frecha smiled with acknowledgment.
"No, thank you. For helping keep the living world safe, but know that someone here is not who they seem. Possessed by a dark spell-caster." Meridian responded as she faded from the living world.
Frecha quickly nodded as Meridian disappeared from her sight.
Oop- Anyways, how did you all like the Prologue? I tried to make it interesting! ♡
