Dolores: "I'm sorry... she's gone."

Camilo: "Mm, this food looks tasty. I might just eat it for myself."

Yn: "No, wait for me!"

She yanked the food out of my hand and instantly took a bite. I laughed as I too, took a bite. Our mouths were full of food, struggling to chew. We couldn't stop laughing at eachothers faces. Once all the food was gone, I lay back onto the soft grass.

Camilo: "So, how does it feel to have kissed the one and only Camilo Madrigal?"

She turned to me as she swallowed. Her beautiful eyes glistened in the light.

Y/n: "I'll tell you... "

She leaned closer to my face until her warm breath could be felt on my face. It smelled like Mango. Her smile reached her eyes.

Y/n: "Tag."

Before I could even blink, she sprinted across the flowing water and onto the otherside. As soon as I got up, I could see her trying to climb a tree I attempt to not get tagged.

Camilo: "Shortie."

I yelled as I changed into a towns person and tagged her shoulder. Suddenly, she fell. Like the leaning tower of Giza, she toppled onto me. I caught her, unknowing what to do. Was this a prank? Is she OK? What even happened?

Instinct pulsed through my veins and I yelled for Dolores, certain that she could hear me. It didn't take long before she arrived. Skeptical of the cold water, I carried y/n across. Before I knew it, I was in her room as she lay lifeless yet breathing in her bed.

Abuela opened the door behind me as Dolores popped her head to see her.

Abuela: "What happened?"

I got up from leaning on y/ns bed and looked at Abuela dead in the eyes.

Camilo: "I- I don't know she... she just fell and..."

Dolores: "It's okay, Camilo. Breathe."

A lump in my throat formed, choking my words as I tried to speak. Brittle tears making their way down my face.

She was perfectly fine at the river.

Dolores: "Y/n collapsed but we don't know why. She was okay a few minutes ago."

Abuelas eyes shimmered at those words.
She knew what happened, and I was going to find out.

____________
Abuelas pov:

Isabela: "So, you need these plants because...?"

Abuela: "A newcomer is moving in soon and I want her house to be furnished and pretty. The vibrant colors would look nice."

Isabela: "Okay but be careful, they're poisonous."

Abuela: "Thank you my dear."

Isabela elegantly moved her hand and a beautiful flower emerged in front of me. A Sundew plant. I carefully picked it from its roots and thanked Isabela before closing the door behind me.

Now to extract its sticky residue.

I grabbed a leaf and triggered its kill drive. I made sure to move the leaf here and there to allow more stems to attach. Once most of the goo was on the leaf, I yanked it as hard as my old hands could and freed the leaf, the Sundew's glue remaining on the leaf.

I walked to the kitchen, Julieta had prepared food on behalf of Camilo. Perfect. I took a mango and carefully lifted the skin ever so slightly to let the poisonous liquid seethe into the fruit. Camilo doesn't like mangoes so this was the perfect plan to finally get rid on y/n once and for all. Romeo would be pleased.
