Her Flashbacks
Afternoon of April and cold breeze was embracing her. She gazed at a group of friends walking on the other side of the road.
"I wish I could be like that." she uttered to herself. She nibbled her lower lip and started to think of a way for her freedom.
She thought of exploring. To have a new experience. But where does she start?
She searched through the internet. It might be ridiculous at it seems but it was her way of looking for adventure.
When she passes by a site that cought her attention.
Mortem Street.
She smiled at the name. Odd. Familiar.
She clicked on the link and the ambience of the site sent her goosebumps, but why?
Revealed to her was a black background with only a search box and the header. Below it was the description.
Mortem Street is a place for you. A place to find adventure that could lead to metaphoric feels like falling from a cliff in your dreams.
"An adventure to a new you..." she read the last sentence of the description. "A new me, huh?"
She nodded. She finally found something interesting. She continued reading the policies and disclaimers written in the site but because of how long it was, she decided to skip into the instructions which was basically to type your name, age, birth date and voila, it will show you a place that could change you.
Her forehead creased, "I have to apply for a job?! I just turned eighteen!" she sulked. "Can't this thing have any other options?"
She tried refreshing the server many times in a row but the result was still the same.
Even though she was not sure about her desicions, she decided to give it a try.
Wearing a lace backless dress, a pair of black heels and curly wavy hair, she walked confidently inside the bar where she was assigned to apply.
It was a bar. If she would get to apply to be a stripper, she would gladly accept it. She laughed at her thoughts, or maybe she would apply to be a waitress?
Party lights, a mixture of alcohol and smoke combined, people making out, that was what what first revealed her as she entered the place.
She frowned. "It worse that I thought it would be." she whispered to herself.
She proudly walked despite the displeasure she felt. It was her first time in this place anyway.
"Hi, Miss." the friendly bar tender called her, "Drinks?"
She shook her head, declining the offer. "I, I just wanted to know where could I apply? I mean, I found out their looking for employees and--"
She stopped when she noticed how the bartender looked at her. It somehow made her feel uneasy.
"Ah, do'n sa taas, tanongin mo na lang sa clerk do'n. Tell her, VIP room number eleven. Naghihintay ang lang--Si Mr. Lang ro'n."
He was creepy but she nonchantly nodded and looked at the stair case pointed by the guy.
She went up but he knees were already trembling halfway. She wanted to step back but it was too late when she bumped into a guy without her even noticing.
"I-I"m sorry, Sir." she uttered. Her bag and resume fell so she had to kneel on the ground to pick those up.
All of the sudden, the man helped her to pick those. "Be careful, next time. You would not know who you would bump into."
"T-thank you!" she uttered, "W-what's your name?" she asked as she looked into the man's face.
His thick brows and fine jaw. Pointed nose and kissable thin lips defined his handsomeness.
"Leo, Leo Forte." the man handed his hand with the papers of her, "You are?"
She states her name and told him the reason why she was there in the first place.
"Oh? I see, the room is actually right at the corner. Good luck!" he cheered which made her smile.
I like him. She thought to herself.
Leo got her number and she got his. Well, that was fast. But it doesn't matter. The more way she needs to focus of the interview.
She knocked at the door where Leo pointed. She took a breathe in before knocking once again.
"Enter." a man spoke. She carefully moved the door knob and entered the room.
Three ladies and four men. She also noticed that one girl was familiar to her. She just couldn't tell exactly who the girl was.
"Hi! Finally! We have a new friend!" one of the girls cheered. "What's your name?"
She states her name again and told her why she was there.
They all looked at each other sheepishly and smiled at her. "Well, darling," the familiar girl went to her, "the only available job right now is the stripper position."
She sounded sad but it doesn't feel like it.
"Oh, i-it's fine. Well, I just needed a job." she said, well, lied.
"Oh, alright then, do you know how to dance? Can you strip in front of many people?" a man asked. "Well, hence the term stripper, I mean that was you were designed to do."
"I-I could dance, a-and, maybe I could..." her voice started shivering, scared. But she had to maintain her poise.
"I can strip." she said with conviction whuch made the people around her smiled.
"Show us, then."
