I promise/chapter 6
Olive's point of view
After spending the rest of the day on our case on Napping, Lighting, Shapeshifter and Kooky Connie. We all headed back to HQ.
''So, it was nothing going on with Napping, Lighting, Shapeshifter and Kooky Connie.'' Ms. O questioned us.
''Nothing Ms. O which is weird, since it's always something with them.'' Otto responded.
''It is something going on. I know it for sure.'' Ms. O states as she pulls something up on her computer. It was the caller for the case. We all started listening to it.
''Yes, Odd squad, I need your help,-'' After the call ended, Ms. O shook her head. ''It must be something we miss, but what is it?'' She asked.
''Oren!'' Oona yelled for him. I hit her shoulder. ''Owe.''
''You scared me, Oona.''
''Oren, can you see if you can take off the voice enhancer?'' Ms. O asked him. ''Sure'' He responded.
He took off the enhancer as we listen to it again.
I gasped. ''That's Halvsie Harriet's voice.''
''Why would Halvsie Harriet be making a phone call to Odd Squad?'' Oona asked us.
''Isn't she one of our low profile villain's? You know the Villain's who are not as dangerous?'' Oren asked us.
''Yeah, but that's a question, why would she call here? Maybe to set us up? Or maybe to find out more intel?'' I questioned.
''Or to become a high profile villain, like odd Todd.''
I sighed in frustration. ''I'm so irritated.''
''Who could be the masterminds behind my parents disappearing? or mastermind for that matter?'' I asked while rolled my eyes as my headache got worse.
I heard Ms. O sighed, ''Olive, you and Otto should go home for the night. I don't want you stressing out over this.'' I sighed again. ''No offense Ms. O, but I'm not going anywhere until I find my parents.''
''I wasn't asking, it's almost two in the morning. I'm giving you and Agent Otto tomorrow off. Go home.''
I sighed loudly in frustration as I grabbed my things. Otto and I made our way home. After locking up the front door and making sure everything was locked up. I went to my room and changed into a big tshirt, sweatpants and laid down.
I sighed as my head hit the pillow. I was tired but my mind was still running on high. I spend the remainder of the morning just tossing and turning. I heard a knock on my door. "Hey, Olive." I heard Otto greeted me as he opened my door. "Yeah, Otto" I responded.
"Can I come lay with you? I can't sleep." He asked me. "Yeah, come on" I replied as I made sure he had enough room. "The kids still asleep?" He nodded his head. I sighed again as the both of us laid there in pure silence for about twenty minutes.
"Olive, you asleep yet?" I sighed, "No, Otto. I can't" I responded. "What are you thinking about?" He asked me. "Nothing." I responded. I felt him move closer to me placing his head on my shoulder as he wrapped his arms around me.
"Are you sure?" He asked me as I sniffed and sighed heavily as some of my tears rolled out the corners of eyes, falling on my pillow. He hugged me tighter as I didn't say anything as I cried. "What if they're not okay? What if we never find them?" I questioned quietly as I let out a whimper that quickly turned into a sob. I heard Otto sighed as I felt tears falling on my face.I heard him sniffed as I grabbed his hands holding them tight. "Olive, I promise we're going to find your parents." He whispered to me. As he kissed me on the forehead then on the cheek. The both of us kept crying until we fell asleep.
Hope you all liked this chapter kind of rushed it in the beginning. But I wanted to end the chapter like this. Will be updating again soon.
