chapter12- one step forward, two steps back

Olive's point of view

I'm laying down on my bed staring up at the ceiling, letting my thoughts wonder. I've been sitting here for an hour thinking about everything that has happened over the last few weeks. It's like everything about my parents disappearance just randomly popped up. Like out of nowhere, like someone want my parents found or have me disappear. Why now? It's been over a year since their disappearance and now something has giving us a green light on their case. Everyone has been working on their own cases, as I let every agent, scientist and or Animal caretaker know. If you find out anything regarding my parents case let me know immediately.

I felt tears slip from my eyes as I came to the conclusion that we may never find them. As I rolled over to my side, falling asleep. I got up and got ready as I didn't even look at what time it was. I haven't had a headache in about a week. I've been trying to keep my mind of things for a while. Hanging out with friends, eating good food, and enjoying my life for a while. I had to head to the HQ with Octavia, Oona and Doctor O today since the boys had classes this morning.

''Morning girls'' I greeted Tavia, Nana and Opal.

''Morning, Liv'' They responded as they all looked at me.
"You're happy this morning, what's the occasion?" Octavia asked me. I shook my head as I shrugged my shoulders.
"Nothing, I'm just happy."
"Well I'm glad you are feeling better, have you had any headaches lately?" Dr.O asked me. I shook my head.
"That's good. But still get checked out."
"I will." I responded as I ate my food. We gathered our stuff and  made our way to the HQ.

"Hey Olive." Otto greeted me as he kissed me on the forehead as classes ended for them an hour ago.
"Hey Otto" I responded putting in the last few touches on these case files.
"What has been going on so far today?" He asked me sitting down at his desk.
"Nothing much, Octavia and Oona are out on a case right now, I'm just finishing up some cases files. You?" I looked at him. "Nothing much. School as been kicking my ass lately but I'm getting through it." I nodded. As I continued my work.
"Oscar and I have this project coming up in a few weeks with these other guys. We're going to study with them after work today. So I won't be home until later." I nodded my head. "Okay, Otto." I responded.

Thirty minutes later, Ms.O had a case for Otto and I regarding the Shocker and Napping. After solving our case for the day. Napping had told us a riddle that made me scared like how did he know about my parents being gone. He is a newer villain, but I didn't expect for him to know about that.

"What would make him tell us a riddle? Why Napping of all villains?" I continued to ask questions towards Otto.
"I have no idea, Liv. It's a villain they can be unpredictable sometimes just to throw us off our game." He responded. I groaned as Otto and I went through the tubes leading back to the HQ.

We told Ms.O everything regarding the case.
"Mmh, nothing we haven't face before. It's Napping he's known for his none understanding riddles." She stated as she drank another juice box.

''Yeah, but why though? I know news spreads fast in our world.'' I responded. Ms. O shrugged her shoulders. ''We need to do something... But what?!-'' I started to panic. ''Olive!'' Otto shouted my name as I sighed and sat down on the couch. Otto came, sat next to me, and hugged me as I was staring off into space.

''I'll call Riley and Raya Riddle over to help us solved this riddle.'' Otto told me as he kissed my temple. ''I'll have Oscar, Oona, Ocean, and Ojai run an analyze on what Napping gave you.'' Ms. O stated as I got up and walked out of her Office.

       It was around 4am when Otto and I got back to the house. We walked into see June, Gia, Dylan, Odessa and Fallon on the floor knocked out sleep. I looked at Otto who laughed slightly. As we maneuvered our way towards our rooms. I showered, dried off and threw on a big t- shirt, black sweatpants and fuzzy socks. I laid down in my bed as I let out a big yawn. 'The kids are not going to school tomorrow.' I thought to myself. Ms. O gave Otto and I, three days off this week. Since we've been working non stop on this case for a minute.

Otto came into my room, shutting the door as he laid down in my bed, facing me.

''What's on you're mind, Liv?''

I sighed again, feeling a headache coming on.

''Nothing Otto, go to sleep.''
As I turned to over towards my right, closing my eyes. I felt Otto wrapped his arm around my waist, moving in closer to me.

'One step forward two steps back' I thought.
