In September 1990, the band also shared their love for action movies, especially Hong Kong martial arts and motorcycle and fighting themed movies. They recorded their next album. The band featured some punk rock, heavy metal, shoegaze and psychedelia. They also combined some music genres to their album like punk rock with heavy metal, blues punk, and shoegaze with prog. During the recording, the band didn't really liked the idea and when they experimented it, it really didn't loaded their expectations. The band record a lot of takes until it's perfect. The album took almost three months to make. In March, they released their twelveth album, Two Sides of the Hitman. The music press was flooded by the psychedelic superstars, Daylight Lust.

The band stated that they wanted to make a heavy record to the press. The grunge phenomenon was exploded in a sudden boom with Nirvana. The record that they just put out was considered as "grunge" and "shoegaze". "Aarna" and "Breeze Dreams" are the shoegaze songs on the album and Abdul, Claudia, Gail really into shoegaze music. They write couple of songs and experiments with his sitar, guitars, keyboards and pedalboards while Kyle, Edward and Michael experimented with bass, guitars and drums to be more metallic and punk. Until their experimentation of punk and metal soon be "grunge". It was magic for the band. The band went on tour with a support of Nirvana. Kyle also asked Kurt to played a guitar solo for Dirt Wave in their concert on Nashville. He agreed. Kyle, Gail and Kurt played together, it was a beautiful moment for the band.

Few days later, the band celebrated their 26th year anniversary at a tour bus with just blowing a cake. They also see that Kurt was on heroin. The band suddenly remembered their drug addiction past and declined Kurt's offer. The band didn't really want to do drugs anymore. It's also strange for Abdul to played a sitar even tho it's not the psychedelic season anymore but the sitar was meant a lot for Abdul. The band's album topped #4 at Billboard Album Charts and the Rock Charts. In the tour bus, they always jammed almost within 20 minutes with their unplugged instruments. Kyle said that the jam sessions were rituals before playing at stage.

The band still had success in the last three decades. They also won a lot of Grammys from their album. The band toured all over the country and their music was known worldwide. Daylight Lust become a staple on rock music history. They also went on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and very happy. The articles writes them as "San Francisco winners of rock music and original tunemakers". The band were enjoying their success life but some of them didn't enjoyed it. He was Abdul, he didn't like the success life, he didn't want any greed and lust. The band respected his choices and didn't do it again. At that same year, 1991. The band played at a tribute for Jimi Hendrix and played the song called "Purple Haze".

In 1993, the label offered them millions of dollars to make an album. With that kind of money, no one's gonna refused it. The band went on Blessed Human Studios and started to record and write some songs. They went on take on take, it takes five months to make one. The band experimented with pedals and more. Finally, they got to release their 13th album called Hawaiian Holiday. There's something bad happened during the recording, Abdul had high cholesterol levels and Claudia had sleeping problems. Kyle also diagnosed of bipolar disorder. Few weeks later, the album was released. They cancelled their tour dates because of their health conditions. Gail had HIV disease and Michael suffered from diarrhea. This is some serious issues, the band decided to take a break from making music.

This would be their final album. It topped #7 at Billboard Album Charts and #2 at Billboard Rock Charts. Their final performance was their MTV Unplugged performance, before their Grammy Award performance. Gail didn't attend because she is on the hospital. Their fanbase are worried. The band also called it end and break up. It was a sad time for the band. Gail passed away due to her HIV disease at 30. The band were deeply sad about the news. Kyle married to his childhood friend who is his band's roadie, Jessica. After the breakup, the members were focusing on their projects and life. The band had changed an impact on music and also become godfathers of various genres, with the help of their experimentation. They were lords of music, they shaped punk rock, heavy metal, grunge, shoegaze, progressive rock especially psychedelia.

Few years later, the band decided to reunited again. Kyle think that everyone already forgot Daylight Lust. Until their reunion tour on Lollapalooza, it was a blast. Everyone singing their songs. The music press are very happy and their fanbase too. They all missed each other especially Gail. During the breakup, Abdul formed a band called Abdul & Friends, a raga-blues rock group that he created with various musicians, he also make a label called Moonlight Sonnet Records. Edward still opened his pizzeria. Michael was a co-founder to Moonlight Sonnet Records with Abdul. Claudia and Kyle together form a folk rock duo called The Southern Goose. The band aren't lost contact but they decided to take a break from tours and more. The Southern Goose was signed to Abdul and Michael's label.
