"You'll never get this done, you know?" The satisfaction was evident in his voice.
"You could leave me alone so I can actually get this finished. Or pick up a brush." I gestured to the abundance of supplies I had purchased.
"Mmm, no thanks. Don't re...
"Jo, time to get up gorgeous. Sorry to wake you, baby. But we have a breakfast to get to." Harry's sweet voice pulled me from my sleep, a single hand rubbing up and down my back.
Dazed, I rolled off of my stomach and sat up in Harry's bed. I was still slightly disoriented but looking at the toothy smile on his face brought me to the present. It was my birthday and Harry had made breakfast plans. This was the first year in a long time that I wasn't responsible for my own breakfast.
"We're going out for breakfast?" I smiled, stretching my arms up above my head and yawning.
He nodded before leaning in and pressing a quick kiss to my lips, "dress cute, wanna take pictures of you."
The burning blush that rushed up my neck and towards my cheeks would have been embarrassing but Harry had already started making his way out into the hallway. A wave of excitement was enough to motivate me out of bed. Our, now shared, wardrobe housed all of our clothes. I liked having all our things together, another thing I hadn't been allowed to do with Will. Our things had to be separate so neither of us could accidentally go through the others things.
Once my outfit was sorted, taking pieces from both mine and Harry's side, I quickly brushed my teeth and my hair in the ensuite. As soon as I stepped into the kitchen, I saw Harry leaning against the wall on his phone. His eyes almost instantly shot up to meet mine as soon as he sensed I was ready.
"Look at you, my pretty girl. Twirl?" That same toothy grin was plastered on his face and he raised his finger gesturing for me to spin.
I crossed one foot in front of the other, did a spin on the ball of my foot and fluffed the collar of my shirt. Well, Harry's shirt, but that was irrelevant. I had stolen a shirt from the back of his wardrobe and paired it with my own pants and shoes.
"Heavenly." That was the only word he spoke before he stepped forward, gripped my hand and pulled me towards the car.
I knew for a fact that there weren't a lot of breakfast places in our small town, but the next town over had a few cute little cafes and bakeries. The short fifteen minute drive was filled with compliments and Harry's own excitement at how the day was going to go.
We walked hand in hand into a cafe on the corner of the main street and ordered our food. The weather was stunning today so we opted to sit on the outdoor furniture and enjoy the sun. It didn't take long for our food to arrive which we ate happily, Harry refused to let me pay for my meal - he refuses to let me pay for a lot of things now.
After we had eaten, we ordered a takeaway coffee each from the cafe and took a stroll through the town. I didn't need to tell Harry my coffee order, he still remembered it clear as day. It certainly was the little things.
"Stop right there!" Harry called to me.
I spun around to see him pulling his phone out of his pocket and pointing it at me.
"Smile, pretty girl."

"Ugh, so fucking beautiful." He threw his head back and gripped at his heart, making a burning blush rest on my face.
The town was cute, I very rarely strolled through it and observed its beauty - I usually just drove through it on my way somewhere else. Walking the main street hand in hand was a really nice moment that I'll treasure forever. Watching small businesses set up for the day, little kids running towards the park, people exiting the supermarket with their weekly groceries - it all felt so surreal.
All these people were living their lives, they were all real people with real relationships. I would more than likely never see their faces again and yet they will go one existing. Their world will continue to turn, even though they don't get to spend their birthday with my Harry.
After wandering around for 45 minutes, we made our way back to the car and started driving. I had assumed we were going straight home but after twenty minutes, we were still driving along back roads.

"What a tune!" Harry reached to turn the volume up on the radio, it was now loud enough we could hear it over the wind rushing through the open windows.
"For someone so fucking British, you are so fucking Australian." I laughed, "Turn it up louder."
Harry joined in my laughter, turned the volume to 100% and brought his left hand to rest on mine. Our fingers knotted together in my lap as the wind blew against my face, this backroad was lined by beautiful tall English Elm trees that I couldn't take my eyes off.
When I finally glanced back at Harry, his right hand was gripping the steering wheel and his thumb tapped gently along to the beat. The light was hitting his face and accentuating all his best features. He licked his lips before he took a deep breath.
"Open up the ocean, jump on in. The masters of the coastlines beckoning. Unfold my only life vest, sink or swim. Through the everlasting worlds begin." The vein on the side of Harry's neck became more prominent as he screamed the lyrics.
His eyes had little creases beside them from squinting during the higher notes, red tinted his tanned cheeks and in this moment, he looked so carefree and happy. He was happy when he was around me and that's not something I ever thought would happen.
Slowly but surely, the scenery became more and more familiar and I knew we were getting closer to home. Was it selfish to want him to just keep driving? I would be perfectly content if I didn't see a single other person for my birthday, I just wanted to be around him. I loved watching how his eyes lit up at pretty much everything, he always managed to find such joy in anything he passed.
"Alright, baby. I did the last one, you're up." His arm lifted from my lap and he pretended to hold a microphone to my lips.
"Open up the ocean, jump on in. The masters of the coastlines beckoning. Unfold my only life vest, sink or swim. Through the everlasting worlds begin." I screamed, matching his previous energy.
We both had painfully large smiles stamped on our faces. The love that I felt for him in this moment was overwhelming, he was my oxygen and I refused to suffocate.
The rest of the drive was filled with more obnoxious karaoke, it didn't matter the genre or artist. We screamed lyric after lyric until our throats were raw and home came into view. Silence filled the car as soon as the keys were switched off. My hand reached for the car door but it was quickly locked.
"Just five more minutes, I want to have you alone for just five more minutes before I have to take you inside and share. Please?" Harry's bottom lip was out in a pout and his hands were clasped together in front of his chest as if he was genuinely begging me.
"Five more minutes? I'm not sure if I can handle five more minutes with you. I was actually planning to go and make out with Clem for a while without you noticing but I guess that plan is out the window." I huff in fake annoyance but burst out laughing at the look on Harry's face, he looked so grossed out.
"You are disgusting, now you're gonna sit in this car for five more minutes with me before I have to share you with your side piece. Feel free to make out with me for the five minutes instead."
I rolled my eyes at his comment before leaning across the centre console and pressing our lips together. Today was going to be a good day, I just knew it.
