I long for days of candy floss,
of bright sunshine and slow afternoons,
of late evening swims and fun movie nights,
and those stupid arguments too,
I long for days of candy floss,
of times spent with family,
of burgers, fat and greasy and the relentless teasing,
and the stupid name-calling too,
I long for days of candy floss
of running in the rain and football games,
of princess dress-up and crackers with juice,
and the stupid homework too,
I long for days of candy floss,
of the times I never even had,
of the childhood cruelly ripped,
from my soft, baby hands,
I long for days of candy floss,
of the times stolen from me,
of the years of joy and happiness
and my innocent fairy tale dreams.
