Leaving

Her parents were passed out... Probably from how much they had been drinking. This was a good thing for once.

"Fuck alex. You better get here soon" I whispered to myself while sitting with my legs dangling out the window, and a few bags full of the essentials on my shoulders, back, and in my arms.

I then hard a car pull up slowly, the engine was turned off and I heard a door open and shut quietly. After moments, I heard movement in the grass in front of me, but saw nothing.

"Avary?" My twin brother Alex whisper yelled at me.

"Yeah?"

"We can go now. Please let's get out of here. I'm sorry I had to leave you by yourself while I went to find somewhere, but we will finally be safe!"

He must've said it too loud because suddenly I heard movement. Alex whistled and the car started once more. He began to take a few of the bags out of my arms when the bedroom door slammed open.

"You worthless pieces of shit get back here now!" My dad screamed at us.

"Now!" My brother yelled at me. I jumped of the window ledge, my feet hitting the ground only four feet below where I was sitting.

We booked it across the yard the the street. The car door was open so we shoved our selves inside.

The door had barely been shut behind us when the driver took off.
