Hi guys! Sorry for the late upload! Hope the length makes up for it!! :)
*Chapter 7-Meeting Abigail*
"Hi, I'm Abigail. You can call me Abby!" a girl by the name of Abigail of course, reached out her hand and gave me a wide smile, revealing her sparkling white teeth.
My hands were trembling at the sides. Like really, after going through a year of 'peer pressure', who wouldn't be? I was afraid to make any more new friends even though I made a New Years resolution that I will get new friends. But sometimes, it's just hard you know? You're still young and you may never know what people have up their sleeves. I don't want to go through the arduous journey of loosing friends anymore. Plus, I don't want my grades to fall just because of a stupid friendship problem.
But hey, making new friends isn't that bad right?
"Um you there?" a squeaky voice snapped me out of thoughts.
I turned to look at Abigail, who was still smiling. I brought my hand towards hers and shook it lightly.
"Hi, I'm Julie."
"Nice to meet you, Julie!"
"Yeah..."
I gave her a small smile in return. By the time she could carry on with whatever she wanted to ask me, my teacher walked in signaling us to settle down on our seats.
She gave me a 'talk to you later' mouth-sign and walked towards the end to where her seat was probably.
I sighed and sat down.
New year, new class, new classmates, new teachers.
You know what comes next.
"Students, since this is a new year, i would like to know your names. So when I call I will be starting from the first person in the last row and so on like a zig-zag. Please stand up and introduce yourself. You are supposed to tell us your full name and one thing that no one in the class knows about."
Exactly.
Everyone in the class groaned and I did too. I hate this. Why the hell do we need to introduce our names? I mean, it's not like you're going to remember any of our names. The worst part ; telling the whole class one thing that they did not know about? Well, heck yeah they do not know anything about me.
Me liking coffee? They would think I'm an old granny. So no.
What about my strong attraction towards Oreos? That's too common so nah-ah.
Erm, what else, what else?!
I was literally dying out of ideas to say something that no one knew about. Also, something that would be good enough so that they won't laugh or make fun of me.
Suddenly, I felt someone shake my shoulder lightly.
"It's your turn, dear." The teacher said softly.
God, what am I going to say?!!
'Go with the flow Jules!
Just go with it.'
My inner voice said.
I hesitantly stood up from my chair and gave an awkward wave to everyone.
"I-'m Julie A-nn J-o-nes." I strutted. Hopefully everyone heard it, so I wouldn't have to repeat it..
"Go on." The teacher said, giving me a reassuring smile.
"I like Michael Jackson." I whispered.
