xvii. 𝗌𝗈𝗋𝗋𝗈𝗐

“𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐀 𝐁𝐄 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄, 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖,” Scott tells Stiles as they walk down the hall.
“Why don't you just ask her if you can borrow it?”
“How?” 

“It's easy. You just say, ‘Hey, Allison, can I borrow your necklace to see if there's anything on it or in it that can lead me to an Alpha werewolf that I need to kill in order to get back together with you,” Stiles says, causing Scott to roll his eyes.

“You're not helping,” Scott tells him.

“Why don't you just talk to her?” Stiles asks, which made Scott sigh.

“She won't talk to me.”

“What if she, like, only takes it off in the shower or something?” Scott asks him.

“That's why you ease—That's why you ease back into it, okay? Get back on Allison's good side, remind her of the good times. And then you ask her for the necklace,” Stiles tells him.

Stiles rolls his eyes when he sees the look on Scott's face. “You're thinking about Allison in the shower, aren't you?” Stiles asks him. Scott gives Stiles a goofy smile, “Yeah.”

“All right, stay focused, okay? Get the necklace, get the Alpha, get cured, get Allison back. In that order. Got it?” Stiles tells him, walking away from him down the hall.

“Get the necklace,” he mumbles to himself.

His eyes fall on Layla, who's standing at her locker. He first had to ask Layla if they reschedule their study session because he first had to talk to Allison and get the necklace, and he doesn't know how long it will take.

He doesn't just want to ditch and not tell her. “I'm going to talk to Layla. See you in class.”

Scott walks across the hallway to the redhead.

“Layla, hey.” The redhead looks up at Scott, and she gives him a soft smile, which made it harder for him to ask her. He didn't want to disappoint or upset her. He had already done it when he missed their previous study session.

“Hey, what's up?”

“I was wondering if we can postpone today's study session?” Scott asks, giving her an awkward teethy smile.

Layla tilts her head and says, “No.”

“What? Why not?”

“Because we're already behind, and we can't afford to miss any more sessions. If we do, you won't pass.”

“Please, Layla.”

“No.”

“Layla, please. I have something important to do today. I can't wait any longer; otherwise I'll regret it,” Scott says. Layla's gaze falls on a certain brunette down the hall.

The something important was definitely Allison.

“Please, just this once. I promise I won't miss any sessions from here on out.”

Layla looks back to Scott. “Is it really more important than school?” she asks him. He just nods without thinking twice. He really did want Allison back and honestly as much as it hurt a little, she is hoping they'll find each other again.
