Bringing It back

2 weeks later,

Alice's POV:

The dryer kept me going back and forth with the laundry for everyone in the house with me and Julia. I sighed as I turned off the dryer and felt the warmth of clean clothes coming from the machine and stared off into the small light shining in the drier before closing the door, the light shutting off afterwards. I dragged the basket with me back to my room and set up neat piles, going to the bedroom that it belongs to. With each pile being done, I take a moment to breathe before doing the next one for whoever's clothes I folded. Once the clothes were done, I took hold of everyone's piles up in their room before I could get mine to be put away. As I passed through the hallways, I heard a small sniff coming from Julia's bedroom. I paused on the basket and lowered it so I could get a good hearing of what was happening inside. I peek my head inside for a small minute to see her room almost scattered with pictures of Incineroar and Decidueye with her for the two years she's been alive and even some of when she was just an egg. Praying the door didn't squeak before and the hinges were fixed, I quietly peeked more into the room and finally noticed a small notebook right beside Julia's crib pole, surrounded by her toys that looked to be a "protective barrier" in little kids' minds when playing. I thought back to the funeral day and the time when the factory burnt down and we were almost the last ones to get out of that hellhole. Yet, Incineroar and Decidueye were the only ones who didn't make it out, other than some pitiful workers inside but they were against us, trying to cover up something that was very illegal here in Alola without a permit or recognition for a good reason. I remember while we were in court just a day before the funeral ceremony; Victoria did the speaking with her lawyer as we did with ours, but she, surprisingly, kept her cool with how she expressed her words against the opposing side for whom the permits belonged too and what chemicals were being brought from the beakers and straps in the office. I know how much of an extrovert Victoria could be and how much of an effort she could put in for killing every one of those jerks. I've known her for a little while and I know she'd do that no matter who the person or Pokemon is. I don't know how she did it, but what I do know is that she might've had Incineroar and Decidueye deeply engraved in her emotions more than ever. I quietly left Julia to her pictures and tried to hold back my tears once again as I've been trying to do unless I'd be by myself in my room to do it. I took the rest of the piles to everyone's rooms and dropped the basket off back in the laundry room before I had the strength to go back to Julia and see if she was okay. With some hesitation, I took a deep breath and walked inside to see her still on the floor but now in a small curled up cinnamon bun position, and my defense instantly dropped to almost nothing.

"J-Julia honey?"

"O-oh! H-hi a-auntie A-Ali." said Julia, in a startled voice and looking up at me from her little project.

"I'm sorry to bother you, sweetie. I was just making sure you're o-okay." I apologized as I held my hand/paw out and went over to her.

"I-it ok...I-I unstand..."

"How are y-you feeling?" I ask her, trying not to stutter in front of her.

"....I-I miss p-papa a-and d-d-da-daddy." Julia tells me, walking over to me with shaky hind legs and purposely coming into my wings.

"Oh honey.." I let out and immediately held her.

"I-I miss them too v-very much. A-and I know that they miss you too, Julia..*sniff* Th-they would want t-to see you sad."

"I-I now...b-but..I-I-I want d-dem back..!" Julia started to howl out as she buried her face onto my shoulder.

"It's okay, sweetie. I wished I could do something to help. We want them back just as much and I wish I had the power to do it." I try to comfort her while rubbing her back and fluffing her tail.
