Within a couple days Mona felt as though she was strong enough to leave. It was a sunny Wednesday afternoon and Mona couldn't wait to be free from his grasp.

Jaquavious had been being overly nice to her since the incident and that disturbed her even more, because she couldn't figure out his angle. Since her threat about leaving he had been keeping a close eye on her and hadn't once left her side. Everything inside her was screaming to get out.

"See you later bae,"Jaquavious pronounced as he kissed her on her forehead. Mona looked up at him and smiled. At first she was giving him the cold shoulder but realized that he wouldn't let his guard down unless she acted as though her feelings were unchanged so that's exactly what she did.

As soon as the front door closed Mona jumped up and started grabbing everything that she owned along with Jaquavious' jewelry and stash of money.

Once satisfied, she quickly threw on a Nike tracksuit, grabbed the car keys for his other car and went racing out the door.

Mona frowned as the heat hit her. She mentally cursed herself out for her attire. In Florida you never quite knew what to wear during that time of the year. Mona tried to ignore the heat and hurry to get the suitcase in the car and leave.

As soon as Mona was preparing to back up, she saw Jaquavious' car coming back down the street. Oh shit, she thought as she buried herself as low into the seat as possible.

The car was parked on the drive way and if Jaquavious pulled in behind her, she'll be screwed. Mona heard his car door slam from a distance and exhaled relieved that he chose to park by the side of the road.

Her relief quickly turned to fear when she remembered that he only did that if he was taking the Impala out. Even though she was already as low as possible she tried to bury herself even further with her eyes shut tightly as she heard his footsteps getting closer.

Jaquavious strolled right by without even looking in and headed straight for the door. He did have plans to take it out, but he had left the keys on the dressing table.

When Mona heard the front door slam she still couldn't move due to the fright still having her paralyzed, but she quickly snapped out of it once reality set in. She had to make her move and didn't have a second to waste.

Mona shakily put the keys in the ignition and then backed out as fast as possible. As soon as she shifted the gear into drive, she saw Jaquavious running towards her with his hands in the air. Ignoring him she pressed her foot down on the gas and pushed it to the limit.

BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

Mona regretfully looked into the rear view mirror and realized that Jaquavious had caught up with her. Jaquavious had escaped the police on several occasions and Mona felt hopeless that she'd be able to shake him. She quickly made a sharp right turn and then another. Every time she saw another road she jerked the wheel praying that she didn't end up on a dead end. Finally she made it to a main road and instantly felt safer due to the amount of other cars around.

"Fuck," Jaquavious yelled as Mona turned onto John Young pkwy. The reason why he had went back home in the first place was to switch cars because his other car was on E. He knew he wasn't going to make it much further and had no choice but to pull into the gas station.

Jaquavious couldn't believe that Mona had pulled such a bold move. She had been so out of character lately. He couldn't understand why she was so mad when she was the one who cheated.

He gave her everything she desired and in return she steals from him. Jaquavious couldn't even think straight... If he didn't have Mona, he had made his mind up that no other man will either. She cheated on him, stole from him and there was no way he was going to let her get away.

Mona swerved from lane to lane afraid to look back. Her life was beginning to feel like a movie, and she was starting to wonder if her hate for Ma was sending her on a path of destruction. Finally she got the courage to look in the rear view and realized that there was only two other cars on the road she was now on and neither of them was Jaquavious.

Mona began to tear up as her emotions got the best of her. She had left without destination and had no clue where she was going or if anybody would even take her in. This was the first time that Jaquavious had left her alone since he had hit her, so she didn't have time to make plans and was just acting on impulse. Mona picked up her phone and dialed her bestie Amanda.

Amanda had just moved out of Orlando to Kissimmee, so it would be the perfect get away. Amanda agreed to Mona coming without hesitation.
