Upside of living in the middle of the city: everything is close.
And this includes where your friend's work. Which I love going to and bothering them because it's so fun. Plus, their boss loves me.
Minutes away from my small, too expensive, apartment is a small family businesses ran by the Galliard family. Perks of having well known parents around the city: you get to also know people. With my parents being Congress members, they obviously meet a lot of people on the way and traveling. The Galliard's just so happened to be one of those people.
The Bright Side, a flower shop, is one of the longest lasting businesses here. They're usually popular around Spring through Summer, so I was lucky enough to catch them at a time when they are the busiest.
I open up the shop and a gust of cool air feels like heaven against my skin. Yeah, I only walked for three minutes but it's so hot outside. I let out a "ahh" noise and close the door behind me.
"These Days," by Wallows plays on the speaker above the door and it smells amazing in here. The red roses to my side overpower all of the other flowers in here.
As soon as you walk in, a little bell chimes. There's a register and counter to the left of the room, and a selection of flowers on the right. A fan hangs above and whirls so fast I cant even tell how many blades are on it. There is a room in the back where the office is and many plaques on the wall talking about the store. Everything in here is a range of bright colors to draw in customers.
"Y/n!" A voice sounds in front of me. A smile grows in my face as I wrap my arms around him and take in his smell. More flowers.
Meet Porco Galliard. Aka: my middle school boyfriend that only lasted a month. He's been one of my oldest friends, besides the girls. But, I haven't seen him since I left for a year. We stayed friends throughout high school but drifted apart in my last year.
"Galliard! Give me a fucking hug now," I throw my hands around him and rock back and forth. He smells like the same old Porco. Flowers and a mixture of honey. Maybe it's because of our locations though. He always worked around his parent's shop.
He holds me in place but then pulls away to get a good look at me. Porco's eyes scan every inch of my face and his cheeks raise up from his smile.
"My god- you look gorgeous," Porco shakes me shoulders as if he's knocking sense into me. He pulls me into another hug before leaving to go behind the counter.
I jump up on the counter and sit there. I face him and he's leaning against the countertop. His hair got longer and I dare say he looks handsome. Girls must have been keeping him busy while I was gone.
