Today is Monday.
It's been a week, yes 7 days and I can't get over what happened. I can't sleep at night, my body is so weak, the tears are not stopping, my eyes are always puffy and red; not a nice sight to see...I'm not going to school, and Brooklyn visited a couple of times but she couldn't get me to talk, she just hugged me and comforted me. Dad has been taking the whole week off of work, he's trying to make me eat but it was to no avail. He is being patient, but I don't know when will he get enough of me.
I'm looking at my reflection in the bathroom mirror, I sighed opening the cabinet taking out sleeping pills. I need sleep, I'm so tired.
I took 2 pills and hoped they will work as soon as possible. I went back to my bedroom and lied down on the bed. Waiting for sleep to come and save me.
In a matter of minutes, I felt my eyes drooping and my body relaxing....I was finally falling asleep.
"Mom I miss you so much." I was curled up in my mother's lap and she was rubbing my back.
"I know baby girl and I miss you more."
"It's been so long, I'm giving up, what should I do." I told her in a desperate voice.
"No, don't give up if you love me and your uncle. Stay strong and go on without us. There is your dad, Brooklyn and more people who love you more than you can ever imagine. I want you to promise me. Go to school tomorrow show them how strong you are, and how nothing can bring you down okay??" She tried to convince me.
"Okay I promise." I hesitated at first.
"Now smile because I'm always here with you." She said pointing at my heart.
I smiled and muttered an 'I love you' as I felt myself drifting off again.
I woke up and looked at the clock. It was 7 pm and I decided to take a shower and freshen up. After showering I wrapped a towel around my body and went out of my bathroom. I opened my closet door and got out a long sleeved pajama shirt with a pair of warm pajama pants to go with it , since it's starting to get chilly these days. I dressed up and went down the stairs to the kitchen to see my dad preparing dinner glumly.
"Hey dad." I said entering the kitchen.
He turned around with a look of surprise on his face as he smiled widely.
"Hello Elisa, I'm making dinner wanna dine with me." He asked hesitantly.
"Yeah sure 'cuz I'm really hungry." I said fixing the kitchen table and putting some spoons and plates.
"What are you doing anyways??" I asked going over to the stove where dad was standing.
"Pasta." He replied still smiling.
"Yum." I went over to the table and sat down waiting for the food to be done.
"And....it's ready." He came with the pot of pasta and sat down across from me.
We were in the middle of eating when I said: "Dad, I wanna go to school tomorrow."
"Are you sure?" He asked swallowing the food in his mouth.
"Yes I'm sure. I don't wanna miss anymore days of school, plus I'm an A student I don't want to loose grades and miss a lot of lessons and stuff."
"Okay as you like. Do whatever you're comfortable with."
