Chapter 5

I was running through the school hallways trying to find Mr.Henderson's class.

Let me tell you something, after not being able to sleep for a whole week I will sure wake up early,Yeah?and without a loud alarm. But ladies and gentlemen it was past homeroom and I woke up late.

I honestly don't know how I entered the school, all I care about right now is the class I should attend.

Finally, I stopped at the door of his class and took a deep breath after running, knocked on the door, and opened it.

"Good morning." I said smiling and panting slightly.

Everyone was looking at me in surprise but the teacher smiled back then coughed and said:

"Class started 15 minutes ago why are you late miss Williams?"

"Well....." I trailed off not knowing what to say.

"First and last time." He raised a finger at me. I nodded and bit my lip trying to stop from smiling.

"Have a seat please."

I went over and sat next to Brooke.

"Hey Lisa." Brooke greeted.

"Hello.." I muttered still looking at the smiling teacher in front of me.

"Earth to Elizabeth!!" Brooke exclaimed.

"Huh??!" I turned to her smiling and blushing like a fool.

She shot me a questioning look and tilted her head.

"Class we were solving number 17 right? Where is your book Miss Williams?"

I opened my school bag and was searching for the calculus book when I realized it was in the locker.

"Uhmm...well you see I came late and I forgot to get my book from the locker. I can share the book with my friend here if you want." I said fidgeting with my hands and looking up nervously at him.

"Okay fine." He shook his head fake frowning.

"You are so telling me what is happening between you and him." Brooklyn said smirking.

"He has green eyes." I said.

"I know but that is not the point." She replied.

"And brown locks, they look so soft."

"Oh my god, are serious?" She exclaimed out loud.

"I've had enough. Coming to class late,not getting the book and talking to your friend.Detention after school miss Williams."

My jaw dropped and I stood up."Whatttt....but like.. Mr.Henderson it's my first day and and -..."

"Stop trying or it will be a whole week of detention."

I huffed and sat back down. "What are you taking anyways??"

Brooklyn showed me what are the lessons they took and are taking.

I raised my hand to ask the teacher for help when the bell rang.

I went to his desk and said:"I kind of don't understand the lesson and we have a homework so what should I do?"

"Come to me at lunch time I'm free if you want." He suggested

"Oh yeah sure I would really appreciate it. Thanks"

"Anytime,have fun and see you at lunch."he waved.

I went out of class and met Brooklyn at the lockers.

"I'm coming over tonight whether you like it or not and you are gonna spill everything. Since you're going to his class in lunch and detention after school, I will see you later."

She hugged me and whispered in my ear:" I'm glad. You're back."

****lunch time****

For some reason, I felt nervous going over to his class. I stopped at the door and knocked on it 3 times then opened the door to find him writing something down and frowning in concentration. I cleared my throat to grab his attention so he looked up.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see you there."

"No, it's totally fine." I replied going over to his desk.

"Go sit on one of the desks and I'll get my chair and sit next to you."

I nodded, did as asked and sat down. I grabbed my bag and got out my book,notebook,and pencil case. I held a pencil and a calculator and opened my book on the 2 lessons they took last week.

"I'm ready." I announced but I already saw him staring at me.

He placed his chair next to mine and sat down. We were so close I didn't know what I was feeling but he's my teacher for God's sake. Focus Elizabeth, focus.

"Okay, look you have to memorize this formula it's so important. To solve this question you should first find the area of the base.Then you start substituting the numbers. And solve it. I know it's hard and contains algebra,geometry,and trigonometry at the same time but you are smart and you can do it. Okay try solving this one."

I was taking my pencil from him when our hands touched. I looked up at his face and my eyes locked with his and I got completely lost.
What the actual fùck is wrong with me I shouldn't be looking at him like that but damn, those eyes are killing me. Those green orbs they calm me down so much.

I looked down at the book and solved the equation he told me about and all the time I felt his eyes on me.

"Look, I can solve it." I said cheerfully.

"Yeah, excellent but there are other points we need to discuss." He said and sipped on his coffee that I just realized was there.

"It's your lunch time and I shouldn't be taking it. You should rest and eat." I felt bad.

"No it's totally fine. I'm enjoying my time and look I'm drinking coffee." He said smiling and held up the cup.

I fixed a strand of hair behind my ear and we started solving again.

"We should stop here I guess. Lunch is going to be over soon." He said after a couple of minutes and questions.

"Yeah thanks for your time..." I packed my things up and prepared myself to get out of class.

When I reached the door, I muttered a small 'Bye' but he had something else in mind.

"See you in detention Miss Williams."
