t h r e e h o u r s e a r l i e rThe smell of sweat, alcohol and sex called to Luciano as he leaned against the ouside wall of the bar, calling and begging him to wander inside, pick out a women and give in to his bodies desires. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, concentrating on the fresh air of the night rather than the temptations that were in arms reach. Two thousand and fourteen years it had been, and yet he had only collected two other creatures of his kind. There were four others out there, four other sins he had to find.
He rubbed a hand over his face tiredly, before running it around to the back of his neck, clenching his fingers tightly around the muscles straining there from stress. Smoke wafted in front of his face, a white blur among the black of the night. He craned his head to stare at his companion, who was leaning against the wall beside him. Luciano eyed the joint between his companions slim fingers, wondering how on earth his companions mind and lungs were able to heal with how much he consumed.
His companion stood at about 5"9, the shortest of the group, and was built well. His navy blue eyes contrasted with his blonde hair that sat aloof his head. His white wife beater had ash smudged around the hem and his dark blue jeans hung low on his hips. A beaded necklace hung around his neck with a simple wooden 'X' pendant attached to it.
"Gula," Luciano said, his voice husk and strained, "Where is your Virtue? Is she not supposed to be preventing you from the temptations of your sin?"
The companion gazed at Luciano, his blood shot eyes giving away the state he was in. He shook his head, pulling the joint from his lips before replying, "Luc, what have I told you about using my middle name? Miluino is my name and it will serve you right to remember it. My Virtue, Temperantia, cannot rid me of my sin all together, she only lessens my desires. You, on the other hand, show great restraint. You don't even have a Virtue, Luc, yet you have not penetrated a single woman here... Willingly or by force!"
Miluino roared in laughter, the joint rolling from his fingers onto the porch of the bar. Luciano glared at his Miluino as his sin flared in his chest. A leather clad foot stomped out the joint and Luciano followed to the foot to it's owners eyes. Avaritio watched as Miluino's laughter ceased as he began to hack up a lung or two. Avaritios black hair was slicked back and tattoos peeked out from beneath the collar of his shirt. His earrings stretched his ears to have a hole in the lobe, about a centimetre in diametre, and rings adorned serveral of his fingers. He adjusted his tie and suit jacket before focusing his attention on Luciano.
"Where are the Virtues, Luciano? Mil, over here, is obviously too high to know right from left."
Luciano rolled his eyes, stabbing his thumb in Miluino's direction, "I asked him only a second ago where his Virtue was. He didn't exactly give me an answer."
Avaritio growled, slamming Miluino's body up against the dry wall, cracking the plaster, "You had one fucking job, Mil! But instead, you come out here to get fucked up! I am so sick and tired of you shit, Gula!"
"Hey!" Miluino roared back, clenching his fists onto the collar of Avaritio's shirt, "Don't use my middle name! And what crawled up your arse, Ritio! What's wrong with you? Are you feeling a little... Greedy?"
Avaritios fist plumeted into the dry wall a mere inch from Miluinos head, instantly erasing the smile from his face. Avaritio leaned in closer, baring his canines at him.
"Watch your mouth, Gula." He spat.
"Concupiscentiam!"
Luciano turned from the scene at the sound of his middle name. Two women were walking towards him, towing another woman between them. The woman who had called his name was tall, with legs that went for miles. Her short, vibrant red curls bounched around her structed face as she struggled the keep the woman standing upright. The other woman who was helping her was tall, also, with long orange waves. These two Virtues just happened to be sisters. The woman they were carrying, however, was not.
"It's just Luc." Luciano told the sister with curls. She huffed and rolled her eyes, helping her sister discard the woman by the door, a few metres away from Luciano. His eyes found the hem of her dress, wanting so badly to see more of her milky skin further up, especially without any protests from her. He shook the thoughts away as the sister with curls began to speak.
"Geez, Luc. You're turning into Gula."
"It's Miluino!" Mil roared, before closing his eyes and clutching his head.
"Really, Mil? The second I'm gone and you light it up! What am I going to do with you?" She said as she approached him.
He opened a blood shot eye to peek at her, "Tia, baby, do you still love me?"
She giggled, and threw her arms around Mil's neck. Tia, the Virtue of Temperance, willingly threw herself at Mil's. "Of course I do." She said, before planting her lips on his.
As if spurred on by the action, Tia's sister Cari, also proceded to throw herself at Avaritio. My desires bubbled beneath my skin and it was taking all of my restraint to reel it in. Tia noticed the restrained atmosphere bubbling from me and she detached herself from Miluino. She cleared her throat and pointed at the woman passed out on the floor besides the door, "Found her going at it with a Monstrous. She barely had time to scream before he started shifting. Cari and I were coming back from the bathrooms when we saw him, towering over her. Put a silver bullet between his eyes. She passed out from the shock and nearly fell into the broken rainwater drain. So, we picked her up and dragged her back here."
"I had a feeling that Ira had passed through here. Anyone could feel the bastards anger from a mile away. If Ira is here, there's a big chance he's with Invidiam and Fastus. And where those two are, there are Monstrous not far behind." Luciano said, finally pushing himself off of the wall. He glanced towards the forest as movement caught his eye. Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Sure enough, a huge, furry beast was disappearing into the thick of the trees.
He set off, pumping his legs to run after the monstrous. Loud laughter and jeering echoed from behind him, as more pounding feet joined in with his chase. A loud, booming voice sounded after him, followed by Tia's pitches of laughter.
"Run, Mr. Lust! Run!"
+ surprise! do like my surprise? do you even understand my surprise? here, i'll explain. +
The title to this story will finally make sense. This story is about Grace and Luciano. Whether it has become clear or not, Luciano is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. What are the Seven Deadly Sins? Glad you asked.
They are the sins of Pride, Greed, Lust, Wrath, Gluttony, Envy and Sloth.
You may have noticed that I also mentioned 'Virtues'. These are the Seven Heavenly Virtues as opposites to the Seven Deadly Sins.
They are the virtues of Humility, Charity, Chastity, Forgiveness, Temperance, Envy and Diligence.I'm not going to reveal here, who is which sin and who is which virute. If you read back through the preface and this chapter, it should all start to piece together. Let me know what you think of this little plot twist. Keep in mind, this may make the story very dark at times with mature themes, for instence this chapter saw themes of drugs, alcohol and rape. I do not encourage any of these things, but that is just what the seven deadly sins are.
p.s sorry for the short chapter and the long author note x
p.p.s try translating everyones names (excluding grace and luciano) from latin to english. it may help you figure out who is who. to translate lucianos name, use his middle name; Concupiscentiam.
