The Romance between Lotus and firefighter

Geum Jan Di packed her bicycle next to her Sunbae's motorbike. He had given it to her as a present to congratulate her for passing the entrance exams and earning herself a scholarship. Now it has been a year in medical school but sadly her fireman Ji Hoo was a semester ahead of her. He has had many admirers in his class and especially in the university even some female lecturers tried to get his attention but he didn't give them any attention.

Ji Hoo's main focus was on his studies and Geum Jan Di. Ji Hoo gave her all his attention that almost the entire school body envied her for the attention she got from her fireman.

Goo Jun Pyo was in America also becoming a better man. He was in Paris for a business meeting with Ha Jae Kyung. After the trouble they had caused at their wedding, now they were working side by side to save the company from falling to the ground.

As she was still thinking, she didn't notice that her fireman was intently observing her with a grin on his face. He always loved observing her because she looked beautiful when is absent-minded. Jan Di unconsciously started walking to the lecture room without taking in her environment and collided with her sunbae

"Ouch," she had hit her forehead in his firm chest. "I'm sorry" she tried to pull away from him but he held her head in his chest for a few more seconds before releasing her

"Are you sober now, my lotus?" he said smiling brightly

"SUNBAE!" she exclaimed over the top. Luckily, her voice didn't attract any attention but seeing her cheeks turn rosy, he was more than happy to know that in this world, he was the only one who managed to make her blush not even Gu Jun Pyo could achieve that.

"What?" he continued smiling.

"Why do you keep calling me those nicknames?" she feigned hurt and looked away.

"Because they suit you" he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Don't be angry my little Otter"

She nodded and beamed at him "Sunbae, have you heard from Gu Jun Pyo lately?"

"No, why?"

"I haven't heard from him either"

Ji Hoo and Jan Di sat in their usual seats, next to each other. There were a few lectures they normally shared and Human Anatomy was one of them before they could separate. One of Ji Hoo's female groupmates came and occupied a seat next to them.

"Good morning, Ji Hoo sunbae?" she tried to touch his arm but he was quick enough to remove it

"Good morning miss Han" he turned to his bag pack and pulled out his iPad and Jan Di did the same. They had Identical iPad with matching cases. Grandfather had shipped them from America as a congratulation gift for passing the medical entrance exams. People at school had also started gossiping about how Ji Hoo and Jan Di had similar books, expensive pens, and even the same bag packs, the iPhones of the same brand courtesy of their grandfather.

The lecture went on for three hours with some quizzes, exercises to be done in groups. During the lecture, Jan Di got a cramp in her injured shoulder and couldn't take down notes and her friend Lie Ruge offered to help but Ji Hoo stopped her saying he would do it.

Lie Ruge is half Chinese and half Korean. Her parents belong to the martial arts sect who train young men and women in the five elements of martial arts, and they protect people secretly in the community. Lie Ruge was among the students who obtained a scholarship and she is currently sharing a room with Geum Jan Di. Lie Ruge is madly in love with Song Woo Bin but she has never dared to tell him how she feels.

The lecture ended after 3 hours and Ji Hoo and Jan Di said goodbye with a hug promising to meet for lunch.

"Jan Di-ah, if Woo Bin sunbae could give me the attention that Ji Hoo sunbae gives you, I will be more than happy" she sighed dreamily looking up thinking about Woo Bin's face.

"How did you know him?"

"His family hired our skilled workers to work for him, that's how I got to know him and I fell in love with him. How about you, Ji Hoo sunbae seems to care about you a lot, are you sure you are not in love with him?"

"Ji Hoo sunbae and I have been through a lot together, that's why we're very close to each other" she blushed at their connection that has been increasingly getting stronger.

Ji Hoo and Jan Di sat at the usual table in the cafeteria for lunch. These days they hardly bought food but instead, Jan Di always made food for both of them to eat for lunch. Jan Di today packed Bibimbap (seasoned and sautéed vegetables, mushrooms, beef, soy sauce, chili pepper paste, and a fried egg). Ji Hoo had come to love all the dishes that Jan Di prepared for them. "Otter, you don't have to always do this every day, I can help too"

"I know sunbae, but the food here isn't healthy. So I want to make sure that we eat correctly and besides, you prepare break and also buy juice and ice cream. Here" she gave him his dish.

Ji Hoo was touched by the care this girl always gave him, it made him even love her more. True after Jan Di turned down his proposal, he was hurt but he blamed himself for acting at the worst time but what surprised him, even more, was the fact she hadn't accepted Jun Pyo's proposal either. He knew that he had four years to make the most of it before his best friend could come.

"Is your shoulder cramping again?"

"No, I feel better now. Let's eat before the food gets cold"

Ji Hoo and Jan Di ate in silence until a magazine caught their attention. "Sunbae is that Unnie and Jun Pyo"

"Let me confirm first" he went to borrow the magazine from one of the female students who were gushing at the couple
