To say that the smallish town of Clacton-On-Sea is boring was a major understatement. About 35% of the town was the permanent residents which consisted of around 200 people, most of which were elderly pensioners or the middle aged children-less. The only occupants under the age of 30 were a few small children and even fewer teenagers, consisting of probably 6 or 7 teens and maybe a few more of the small children. The other 65% were tourists, many of which either speak no English or are occupied with small children. So with the lack of teenagers or youngsters in the town it's safe to say that Clacton-On-Sea is a very old fashioned placed filled with pensioners who prefer to spend their time knitting, sleeping, shopping or being friendly with everyone.

My Gran was no exception. Spending the majority of her time either out shopping for groceries with her pensioner friends or at home cooking and sleeping. Not at the same time of course, or else the house would have burnt down many years ago. I wasn't a rather large fan of Gran's cooking. Don't get me wrong I love her to death but she had a tendency to buy organic foods which either have a lack of taste or are extremely bitter. She also tends to throw random ingredients together to create meals that shouldn't even exist.

"Rori?" The soft voice of Gran broke through my thoughts. I looked between her, my Aunt Mariah and my cousin April. April is a spitting image of Aunt Mariah, the only difference is that Aunt Mariah looks about 30 years older than April, which she is of course. They both have long chestnut brown hair with surprisingly bright blue eyes. Their freckles are scarily almost identical too which is creepy and they both have slightly tanned skin.

"Yes?" I turn back to my Gran who smiles kindly at me as she raises an empty mug for me to see. "Would you like some tea?" She asks and I nod slowly, not really one to pass up tea, or coffee for that matter,I love them both equally. "Yes thanks Gran" I add on halfway through my slow nod.

"It's so beautiful here don't you agree Rori? Your going to love it here I can tell" April says with an excited look on her face. To be honest I wasn't all that excited about moving to the costal town of Clacton-On-Sea, which is a rather state the obvious name. I couldn't imagine living anywhere other than the big city filled with skyscrapers and paved streets and bright lights with my Aunt and April. In the past month they have been so good to me, taking me in and looking after me after the death of my parents. April especially. Nights were the hardest time for me and when I'd wake up crying I'd crawl into her bed and she'd hold me tight promising that everything would be okay, on many occasions she'd cry with me too. On the occasions that I woke up screaming she'd be there in an instant to soothe me back to sleep. I didn't want to nor could imagine living apart from April, she was such a vital part of my life, my survival. I didn't know if I could cope without her and I wanted more than anything to return to the three bedroom flat back home. But I wouldn't tell her that because it would be impossible for me to go back with them anyway and I would just make her feel bad.

"Once I settle in I'm sure I'll love it" I force a small smile to her and hope she doesn't pick up on the fact that I'm unhappy. Luckily she didn't and instead returned my smile with a full blown grin and clapped her hands excitedly. April sometimes acted like a child but at 19 she was actually two years older than me.
