Never in his life had he felt more embarrassed by his own partner. His brain was probably over exaggerating that but seriously? His senses and sides were tingling and he had never felt more nervous in front of Kaito before. For once, he was the lost one in a field where he had no idea what to do. The first time Ging actually had to ask for help and training from Kite when it had always been the other way around.
" Ging, your body is way too tense. Let's try getting a simple balance going, and then we can talk about doing more complicated moves."
Despite the genuine stress running through Ging's system, he balled it up all inside for one reason. The explanation would be Kite's expression during all of this. The older man honestly wasn't sure when his boyfriend had looked more cheerful. There was something about the tall man's huge smile and bright eyes during teaching. That sight was like art to his own eyes. He'd be willing to fall on his ass over and over again on ice if it meant seeing Kaito smile like this. The shorter man grunted a bit standing back up on the ice, and his legs reverted back to wobbly.
" I thought you said ice skating was relaxing."
Ging put his arms out to balance, and eventually he would be in a still position. But he knew that even the slightest movement would throw him off. Kite on the other hand was maneuvering through the frozen lake as if it were every day grass. The blades on his skates not wobbling, or getting scratched up a single time they had been out there. Anytime he saw his boyfriend on the ice he would always see him soaring through it. He even caught him one time making a spin in the air. In his memory of that, Kaito had made the cutest laughter afterwords being proud of himself. Kite remembers that day like any other, but for Ging there was a permanent image stuck in his brain. When he managed to twirl in the air, Kite's hair managed to become a spectacle. A perfect fountain of white snowy hair surrounding him, and waving around like ribbons in motion. Ging understood he would realistically never look that beautiful, but could he at least walk on the damn ice?! He went into this first time thinking it would take awhile to get used to, but by this point it had been an hour of non-stop fumbling.
" I'm sorry, I hadn't thought from a beginner perspective is all."
The taller man chuckled a little hearing how grumpy his partner was. Ging's puffy cheeks from anger being mixed with his puffy jacket made him an amusing sight to look at.
" Here.."
Kaito finally offered his hands to help his lover glide, and Ging reluctantly let the other take a sweeter hold. Their mittens clung together making a sound of escaping air between them. A light plop that would turn into the tightest grip Ging had ever held onto Kite as they started moving again. His instincts were completely thrown off by just being able to slide around on the ground, and he was risking falling again. Kite sensed this and drew closer towards his frantic boyfriend. His shadowy eyes shinned like stars in a night sky seeing how trusting Ging was of him. It was very satisfying to watch the man that used to beat him at everything, literally crumble to his feet at this one sport. Not that the taller man enjoyed seeing his crush in pain, but it felt righteous. As if he had been waiting for a secret revenge for years. Kite would use his long arms to put an arm behind Ging's back, and bring him in close. They were now side by side, and the shorter man felt even more like a baby. For a man with this much nen skill in him, he couldn't ice skate without his boyfriend there. The red faced man would look up at Kaito with admiration. Even with how much he was embarrassed, it was nice to have a change of pace. He wanted to know what a Kite teacher could look like. However, Kaito would catch him making puppy eyes. It melted his soul in the best ways possible. Ging would usually always wore a certain smile. Something Kite referred to as Ging's 'I know everything smile' when saying something genius or doing something spectacular. It wasn't showing here though. The smile he was wearing was genuine fear, but curiosity. The spiky haired one's brain was thrown off completely by not being naturally good at this one thing. It was causing unreasonable amounts of overthinking, and stress he really didn't need. In conclusion to seeing his lover like this, he would attempt his best at relaxing the other man down. Kite would make them lightly slide to a stop, and he'd hug Ging like a giant teddy bear in the middle of the ice. This was also an incredible decision because the other man was insanely warm. All the time when they were dating, and especially here. It was as if a fire burned in the man's chest except it could never be put out. Not as long as Ging lived. The older man was a bit confused, but he accepted this hug nonetheless. Not all of his frustrations were able to steam away, but his arms were stress relieving. His cheek was planted to Kite's chest. He could feel the breathing along with his peaceful heartbeat. The white haired one's scarf was incredibly soft, and it made Ging wish that they were just at home in bed. Cuddling, and snoozing the day away seemed like such a good idea right about now.
