      Down the roads and under the welcoming arms of maple trees there Hawk stepped by. She'd look at the floor and run her fingers through her hair. Throughout the walk the comfort of the pines and cold path of the concrete felt comfortable even with the piercing dark eyes of those who watched. Hawk wouldn't suggest walking alone. For one who's been in the military Hawk always felt confident in her self defense. Even when a lone woman like her was walking through the more....shadier parts of Ottawa. Through the crunching of freshly fallen trees the summer sun shone through. It seemed that the subtle noises of nature and eyes of strangers seeming to peer at her soul were the only thing keeping her mind from wandering to what she just realized abiut her life. Even though after this awful life she lived in the USA it hurt so much. To miss these people so much she turned to try to hate them. Hawk pressed her eyes shut.
      
    By the love of the lord. I can think of anything besides this but fuck. My brain ought to say no. Y'know, maybe some creep is planning on slitting my neck right here and now. Keep walking and get home, this is your life to worry about.

    Hawk ran her fingers through her hair. She took a deep breath and rather hurriedly set off again. Her muddied combat boots rushed on the concrete sidewalk. Hawk was dressed in skinny jeans which were mostly covered in a relatively new black sweater swathed in beige stripes in the 10 degrees celsius weather.
Soon meeting a familiar front of a regular brick Goliath building.
    This should be the right apartment...
