I hang up the phone with Nathan. Sheriff Jeffery Kilstoph is the one transporting me to Louisville this morning. But first, we are heading back to my father's place to collect my clothes and so they can perform a thorough search. My father is going to kill me. "You ready to go now, Ms. Fisher?"
"Yes sir. I am ready," I respond.
He and I walk to the parking garage and get in his cruiser. "So Sheriff, it says you are from Louisville yourself. Tell me, what are you all the way here in Nashville?"
"Official business that is none of your business. Now be quiet so I can listen to the GPS to get to your place to pick up some of your things. No contraband," he snapped. I sigh and just stare out the window. What have I gotten myself into?
"Now when we arrive at your father's house, you are ordered to stay in the cruiser until I say otherwise. Do I make myself clear?" He says sternly.
"Yes sir," I reply softly. We arrive at my father's house as he is standing outside the front door. He starts to look panicked. The sheriff steps out of the car while I stay in it. I evesdrop on their conversation.
"Mr. Fisher, are you aware of your daughter's actions last night?" The sheriff starts.
"What? No! I'm not aware. What has she done this time?" My father asks.
"For one, she hacked into the military's classified, digital files. For two, she gave classified information she found on the digital file to Nathan Fowler. For three, she broke curfew for the fifth time in the past year," the sheriff explains. My father turns white as a ghost with fear.
"So what happens from here? Those charges usually result in the death penalty. And let me tell you one thing, I will not let you kill my daughter! She is all I have left of our family!" My father starts to yell.
"Mr. Fisher I suggest you calm down, right now. We can't just let her live after accessing the military files. There's too much going on in the world right now to even chance it. We must uphold the law," the sheriff explains calmly. Then my father starts getting red in the face with anger. The sheriff lied to me, telling me I would be let go with a warning. I have to think fast. I can't just let the law kill me.
"Let my daughter go!" He yells.
"Sir, do I have to call for backup?" The sheriff questions. That's when I climb into the front seat and unlock the doors and run for my life.
"Hey! Ms. Izzabel Fisher, stop or I will shoot you!" The sheriff yells. I just run faster. He aims to shoot but then my father tackles him down to the ground.
"Run Izzy! Don't look back!" My father screams as he is wrestled to the ground below the sheriff. I just keep running and running. I don't know anywhere safe to go. I don't. I start to panic as more sirens fill the air. I run down a back alley in the city and someone pulls me in through a hidden door.
"Shhh!!! Don't scream. I'm on your side. Stay down and stay quiet. You must not return. Your father will be safe, but he will be put in prison until they find you," the stranger's voice whispers. I tackle them down to the ground and punched their face, which was covered by a ski mask. I take it off to reveal the face of Nathan's older sister, Samara.
"What are you doing in here Samara? Why are you doing this? You could get in serious trouble, too," I say frantically.
"SHHH! They're right outside!" She urges me. So I just shut my mouth and wait until the footsteps go away and sirens leave the area.
"Now, let me answer your questions," Samara says softly with a smile. I smile back.
