Chapter 13

Charlie's POV

I went to the mall to get a matching suite for the winter formal with Jo, I got my stuff and got back home. No one was here except of one person, Jo. She was singing a song that i've never heard. I placed my stuff on the table and went to see her. When I got to my room she was singing the song which I assume was called 'Brave' and she was recording herself. I started to record her myself to show the others when they got back. When she was done singing I was stunned by her amazing voice and those deep meaningful lyrics.

Charlie:"holly shit" is all that came out.

Jo's POV

I stopped the video and turned around and saw a stunned Charlie. I wasn't sure if he was gonna say something or not.

Charlie:"Jo this- you- amazing"
Jo:"it's nothing"
Charlie:"that's not nothing, i've never heard that song before. Did you write it?"
Jo:"I- I actually did is it bad?"
Charlie:"hell no it's amazing you need to post this on instagram and YouTube!"
Jo:"oh hell no never ever in my lifetime"
Charlie:"yes! people need to hear this!"
Jo:"I don't know Charlie.."
Charlie:"I already teased a part on my Instagram many people think you should post it!"
Jo:"Charlie no!"
Charlie:"please!"
Jo:"nooo"
Charlie:"okay than you're singing it tomorrow"
Jo:"are you blackmailing me Gillespie?"
Charlie:"maybe maybe not"
Jo:"fine i'll post it you happy?"
Charlie:"very now lets practice our song for tomorrow!"
All night me and Charlie practiced our song I think we only got like 3hrs of sleep.
Owen:"wake up you've got school, winter formal and the talent show!"
Jo:"I'M SO STRESSED OUT!"
Owen:"you'll be okay we are gonna see you at the talent show okay?"
I nodded and woke up Charlie since he fell back asleep.
Jo:"Charlie- Charles" i've tried for about 5mins I gave up and got dressed. I got done getting ready and I thought of what I should call him when I try to wake him up again.
Jo:"babe wake up"
Charlie:"did you just-"
Jo:"good morning Charlie"
Charlie:"did I hear what I heard?"
Jo:"yes let it go now get ready and let's go to school we've got a big day ahead of us"

I went downstairs and saw Carolynn, Meghan, Jer and Owen all looking at Owen's phone. I didn't know what they were looking at until I heard my voice.

Jer:"you are so talented! why did you keep this secret away from us?"
Jo:"I don't know I was scared I guess"
Meghan:"why? you are so amazingly talented"
Jo:"thank you so much"
Owen:"btw you are going viral and lots and lots of people love it"
Jo:"wait really?"
I went to look and indeed I was going viral and a lot of people loved the song but many others hated my voice.
Charlie:"I told you people were gonna love it" he whispered in my ear.
Jo:"yeah yeah, let's go to school Charles"
Charlie:"you guys coming later?"
Caro:"we wouldn't miss it"
we waved them goodbye and left for school. When we got there many people were looking at us well mostly at me.
Brian:"well well looks like the looser has more haters now" he laughed along with his crew.
Charlie:"don't listen to them they don't know what they're talking about"
Jo:"thank you Charlie"
Charlie:"don't thank me cmon let's get to class"

~Time Skip After School~

Jo:"okay I'm gonna go get ready with Meghan and Carolynn, you go with the boys i'll see you after"
Charlie:"don't stand me up"
Jo:"I would never you know me Gillespie"
Charlie:"I know I was joking around, now go get ready i'll see you later beautiful"
He hugged me and kissed my cheek which caused me to blush and he noticed since I saw his stupid smirk.
Charlie:"save those red cheeks for tonight"
Jo:"Oh shut it Gillespie"

I went home and got my dress from Meghan's closet and they helped me get ready. We danced around, sang and just had so much fun together. My hair was curled and went on my right side. My makeup was light since I hated the feeling of makeup.

Caro:"here are your shoes" I didn't want to wear heals so I wore some red high top Converse.
Jo:"thank you guys so much for helping me out"
Meghan:"Charlie is gonna loose it you're so beautiful"
Caro:"Okay we are all ready so lets take a picture!"
Jo:"memories!" we took our picture and we went downstairs to wait for Jeremy and Owen. Charlie had to stay at school to help with the last minute stuff.
Owen:"ladies we're back!"
Jer:"why don't you three look pretty, but my wife here is gorgeous"
Caro:"thank you Jer"
Jo:"thanks Jer love ya too" I laughed and he hugged me.
Owen:"Charlie is going to flip when he sees you Jo"
Jo:"so i've heard, you going with someone?"
Owen:"nah I'll be fine"
Jo:"you sure?"
Owen:"of course! now let's go before Charlie looses his mind he was impatient to see you"
Meghan:"doesn't surprise me it's Charlie"
Jo:"are you guys sure he's gonna like this?"
Owen:"yes stop stressing out he loves you"
Jo:"sure"
we drove together to the school and I saw everyone all dressed formal and all the cute couples, it made me feel insecure. We parked and got out.
Jer:"let's go dance!"
Jo:"wait where's Charlie?"
Owen:"oh I see him"
Meghan:"Charlie!" I grew so nervous when he turned around. He just stopped and stared at me. I got more and more nervous by the second. Did he hate the dress? was I ugly? did the dress show too much of my stomach? he than started to walk over where we were.
Caro:"relax it's just Charlie" she rubbed my back and helped me calm down.
Charlie:"holly- just- wow" he said nervous.
Jo:"hi" I said shyly
Charlie:"you look beautiful" he took my hands and kissed them I couldn't stop blushing now
Jo:"thank you, you look handsome"
Charlie:"thank you"
Owen:"i'll see you guys in there" everyone left so it was just me and Charlie standing outside.
Jo:"I- uh"
Charlie:"why are we acting like this we are together basically 24/7" he said laughing.
Jo:"I don't know I think you make me nervous"
Charlie:"oh do I now?" he said smirking
Jo:"always" I said laughing.
Principal :"hey you two talent show starts soon your the 3rd group performing"
Charlie:"thank you"
she nodded and left inside and we followed her after.
Jo:"are you nervous?"
Charlie:"nah you?"
Jo:"yeah i've never done this"
Charlie:"it'll be okay just imagine it's just me and you out there okay?"
Jo:"i'll try to"
Charlie:"come here" he said pulling me into a comforting hug.
Jer:"hey are you guys ready?"
Jo:"I think so"
Jer:"good me and Owen will be with the girls back stage to wait for you"
Charlie:"thanks Jer"

he nodded and joined the rest back stage and me and Charlie got ready. Maybe it's gonna be great.
