Early that morning Jim heard noise downstairs, he assumed it was Betty. So without fear he walked downstairs. He turned the corner and saw something he didn't expect to see.
"Doug, I have yelled at you to many times. Get away from my house." Doug didn't move, he just stood there. "NOW." Doug ran out of the house. Carrying something. Soon there was a crack in the stairs so Jim turned around and saw Kamri looking around the corner.
"Dad? Is everything okay?" She said with fear on her face.
"Everything is fine. Go back to bed." Jim said with relief.
"Where is mom?" She asked
"Mom? Isn't she upstairs?" Kamri shook her head. Jim ran out of the house.
"DAD!" Kamri yelled after her dad. Jim just kept running. He stops and puts his hand on his knees. he stands up slowly and notices footprints about a 4.5. Jim thought the size looks small it can't be Betty's and it can't be Doug's. They didn't look like new footprints however. He ran in the direction of the footprints. Then the small footprints stop, and he sees them getting bigger to a 9.5.
"Doug." He whispered to himself. He followed the footprints. He found Betty laying in the dirt, he assumes she is just a sleep because he can't find any marks like she was attacked. He picked her up, and started walking home. Betty slowly moves her hand up and points beyond the trees. Jim turns around and walks in that direction.
