You watched as Rengoku was in the living room watching Tengen play a game with Gyomei while he waited for his turn. He was an angel. A flame that came into your life and brought you from the darkness. The cold, bitter darkness that Giyuu and Shinobu put you in. You really thought that Giyuu was the one. You thought you were the only one he could love and be with. You thought you had cracked the surface of his cold exterior and he had let you in. You even met his family even though at the time you never understood the looks they would give you. Maybe it's because they knew about him and Shinobu and wondered when you were going to figure it out. You wish you had. It would have saved you the heartache of walking in on them on his couch. You wanted to surprise him but, you stood by the door listening in on their talk with each other. You remember it like it was yesterday even though it's been a few months.
"How long do you plan on hiding Giyuu-kun? She deserves to know you don't love her." You felt your heart squeeze listening to the sultry tone she used on Giyuu as you slid down his door sitting on the cold, wet ground. It was the morning dew and you didn't care if you stained your pants. You had something more worrying, more spirit-crushing than a pair of pants that can easily be cleaned.
"But she loves me and that's something I'm not willing to give up. I may not care for her but, her unconditional, blinding love is something I deserve and need." You felt like vomiting. So all this time he never loved you? At this point, you were pretty sure he didn't even like you. This was all a game to him, a façade. This was part of his plan to trip you up and fall into his web of lies. He didn't care about you. He just wanted your unconditional and blind love. That's exactly what you did too. You gave him blind and unconditional loyalty. You cared for him. You remembered little important details about him that no one else did. You were his first friend and lover. At least you think. Now you don't know. He lied to you. He betrayed you.
"Ara, ara so cold of you Giyuu-kun~" You heard the sounds of them kissing and that's when you left everything you got him to make breakfast right there by the door. Leaving you to block him and Shinobu off of everything. You didn't want to know how long. You didn't want to know when it all started. You didn't need to know. It was over and there was no going back to him ever. He broke a promise right along with your heart.
"I will love you for infinity" What a liar. You shook your head to get out of the past coming back to the present. You watched as Rengoku finally got his turn. Rengoku. The object of your affection. You really really liked him. You knew it in your heart but, you were scared. Your heart yearned for his touch but, your brain was filled with trepidation. You couldn't handle another heartbreak so soon. You didn't want to be heartbroken like that ever again. You never thought you would be cheated on but, damn Giyuu proved you wrong and crossed that hurdle for you checking it off your bucket list. Not like you wanted it on there in the first place.
"Hey Y/N, are you going to join us or continue to shy away over there, eh?" You smirked at Tengen going to join them not missing the way Rengoku would look at you from time to time. You were hyper-fixated on him and that's the only reason why you ever noticed anything and everything he did. You were the moth drawn to the flame. You wanted him. You needed him. Your heart and brain were in a constant battle though. You didn't want to get hurt again, not that you truly believed Rengoku would ever hurt you. He was the most genuine person you knew besides Gyomei. Would he even be interested in you?
"Once I'm done I wanna play with Y/N!" It was Rengoku and you couldn't help but let a smile spread across your face. Of course, he would like you as a friend but, that's about it. He probably thinks you're still hung up on Giyuu. You never told anyone that he cheated just that you both separated. You were crying a lot and many thought you were upset about breaking up but, they never bothered to talk to Giyuu. None of them really liked him with how cold and stuck-up he acted. If only you had listened to all of them in the beginning maybe you wouldn't be in this predicament that you're in now.
