The Maze:
"JOHNNNN? HELLOOO? Wake up!" I heard someone bellow. My eyes popped open, and I stared. Oh dear, I thought, realizing that my sister barged in to fetch me awake. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?" I screeched. I leaped out of my bed and playfully tackled my little sister. I was bigger, but to my surprise she won! "Weew! You're stronger than ever!" I gasped "No, it's because you're skinnier! You have been gone in the nearby forest for a month!" Sasha really did not want to believe I almost got eaten by huge starved looking spiders and noisy skeletons. I narrowed my eyes on her. "Sasha, the forest I was in was not nearby. It was in a different dimension entirely," I said firmly. Sasha waved her hands, "Yeah yeah yeah, tell me all you want that it's not this forest Johnathan. I know it's a prank," she said. I got up, and looked around. We weren't in my room anymore. We were in a kind of maze. I looked around, and heard that STUPID SPIDER! I grabbed my gaping sister's hand and dashed into a hall. I saw a small hole big enough for us, and dragged her in. I covered her mouth with my hand, and we waited in silence. Finally, I let go of her mouth and led the way out. I looked around, and chose the left path. Suddenly, I heard an echo of a hee hee ha and a crack splatter. I shuddered, and went right instead. BAD IDEA. I saw a red light, and glowing eyes. Dink. Dink. Dink. Dink. Dink. DINK-DINK-DINK-DINK-DINK-DINK crack splatter. I heard. Suddenly, the glowing thing tried to catch me, arms open. Sasha screamed, and I dashed away. We lost the thing, but it wasn't over yet. Just when we thought it was safe, I heard a giggle. Suddenly, I saw a white mask and a small, black body. I backed away, and Sasha hid behind me, trembling. The thing stared into my hazel eyes, and I stared back into its black, soulless eyes. I backed away, and it took two steps toward us. Suddenly, I saw another person's flashlight coming. When I saw him, I motioned for him to not move. He shone his flashlight in our direction, and froze. He nodded shakily, and I sighed with relief. Suddenly, the thing turned, nearly teleported to the boy, practically attached itself to him, and killed him. I shut our eyes at the last second, and Sasha squeezed me tight. When I opened my eyes, there was no body, no blood, nothing except the masked child. Then it hit me. I knew this killer. It was the killer called The Cajoler. The tall creature was The Orotund. The starved looking spider was known as The Hunter. I realized that neither of us had talked ever since we arrived at The Maze. "This is proof that I was in another dimension, Sasha!" I protested. Suddenly, I heard her shriek, and my sister suddenly began to slip off me. I grabbed her and bolted toward a hole. I threw her in, but before I could crawl in as well, I felt hands grab me, lift me, and knock me out, and I heard Sasha scream before I completely passed out. I knew only one thing. I had been abducted by the three creatures.
Prisoner:
I woke up with an absolute KILLER HEADACHE, and it was a bit too dark to see my surroundings. "Where am I? Jhyon? John? Hello? Anyone?" I asked. I was beginning to get scared. I looked around. I was in a cell, I realized. Oh no, was I a prisoner? I miss my friends. I remember the adventure we had while escaping that creepy forest. With a stab of sadness, I remembered Bo, a friend we met in the forest, died while me and John looked for Jhyon. I brightened, thinking that this was a new adventure for us. I heard footsteps coming, and I came up to the bars. I was shocked to realize who it was. It was my brother. Why why why just WHY is he here? I have not seen him in TWO YEARS! Why has he popped up IN THIS PLACE? In a... prison? WHY? "Why are you HERE, of all the places in the world?" I yelled at him, and he flinched away. "I have been lost in the forest depths for TWO YEARS, trying to get back, and when I FINALLY FIND YOU THIS is what I am rewarded with?" he bellowed. "DON'T YOU SASS ME BROTHER!" I shouted furiously. He took a key from the many keys on his left side pocket, and unlocked the door. I barreled into him, and hugged him as tight as I could. "I missed you, dummy," I whispered. "I missed you too," he responded. He led me to the gate, chattering quietly. "I was forced into capturing you by your old enemy, Hawth Thorn. I pretended to agree, knowing that he had a half-cooked brain, and that he was an idiot. After he left for boxing practice with his team, I came to your cell to free you and-" Suddenly, the enormous gates opened with a mighty BANG! Creeeeaaak! I gasped, facing Hawth for the first time in 6 years. He was a gold digger, or something like that, and had a gold and blue suit with two golden chains. He had blonde hair, and wore a small golden crown, thinking that this would make people at school treat him as a royal. Of course, (Eye roll) he became my enemy because I treated him like a fool. (I mean, like, who wouldn't?) He tried to get the school to doubt and bully me like he was, but everyone refused. (Thankfully!) Well, not everyone, of course. He has a small gang of fat junk eaters that are strong and large. My brother, of course, was stronger because he was a vegetarian. Yes. We are vegan. Congrats, now you know. (Wait, where was I? Oh, right!) The three boys smirked at my terrified expression. "Oh look, it's the little worm Jeanie and her vegan brother Damien," Hawth sneered. "Don't call me a worm!" I snarled furiously at them, almost shocked into silence like them, realizing that there was another layer in my voice. I lunged for Hawth, shouting with the second layer, "You may have a gang, but I have something better than that!" I landed on top of him, and was pleased to hear Damien wrestling the other two. "Oh really? What do you have? Nothing! You don't have anything better than my gang and I!" Hawth yelled, torn between fear and triumph. I grabbed the neck piece of his shirt, and tugged him in close to look him in the eye, and realized that my eyes were red and glowsing, seeing the tint in the air around me. Paying no heed to it, I snarked. "I have family, honesty, truth, friends, and," I glanced at my brother, then and continued to hiss, "I have survived man eating spiders and skeletons that shriek like you when your out of potato chips, was dragged into a different dimension, nearly got killed by creatures in a maze, and you say that you have more experience of survival than me when you are lazy and would sit on a couch and watch TV all day? That's a laugh!" I slapped him across his fat, red, chubby face. He yelped, then began to wail like I slapped him harder than I really did. "Why would you do that? I'm royalty, you fool! My parents will kill you when I tell them what you did!" He lied. I screamed in fury and flung him across the hard rock floor. He landed with a loud thud that shook the whole room. I dragged the others off my brother, who grumbled and muttered that he was thankful but could have taken them off himself, and tossed George and Josh away with inhuman strength, making large cracks in the walls. I grabbed my brother's wrist right as the place began to rumble and yelled, "The prison is going to collapse! We need to get out of here!" I sprinted to the main exit, Damien following me, when Hawth screamed, "Wait! Don't leave us! We're too young to die!" I sighed in exasperation, wheeled around, grabbed Hawth, Josh and George, and dragged the four boys quickly out of the prison. I glanced back at Hawth, George, and Josh, and snorted in disgust. The boys had fainted, so I left them in a cluster of soft-ish ferns, then kept walking with Damien. I told him all about my adventures in the maze and in the forest. His eyes were wide, and he gasped at the parts where I almost got caught and nearly died. He went silent and stopped moving when I told him that the spider bit my friend and me (First me, then her) , and I showed him the bite mark. He nearly fainted when he saw the ugly purple and blue scar on my shoulder, but I quickly grabbed his wrist before he could topple off of the tree that we were balancing on. He led me to a gate, and I hesitated. "It's ok, little sister, for this is where I have been staying." He told me, and I relaxed. "Now, close your eyes." I hesitated once more before closing them. "Why are we- RAHHHHHHHHHHHHBLEBLEBLEBLEH!" I shrieked as a cascade of water thundered over us. As quickly as it came, it disappeared. I stood there, dripping wet, and asked my brother, "Why does water come down when people go past the gate?" He grinned as he led me into the camp."It keeps out seeds and pods from coming in," He responded, gesturing to the small clusters of seedlings and sharp pods spinning away in the water. "Oh, ok. I get it now. The forest is always trying to sneak in, right?" I asked. He nodded, then led me to a small group of people sitting by a fireplace, arguing. They stood up when they saw me, glancing at my bites."Cinnamon, Tamoi, Mora, meet my little sister, Jeanie. Jeanie, meet my comrades, Mora, Tamoi, and Cinnamon." Damien introduced us to each other. I waved my shaking, cold hand, and looked them all in the eye. "Hello!" I greeted them with a warm smile, which they all returned. "Hi! I'm Tamoi! Oh wait, you already know that, sorry!" The youngest of the three chirped apologetically. "Oh Tamoi, you're so forgetful sometimes, but she may not know who is who." The oldest one said. "I'm Mora, young one, and I hope you and I can be good friends," Mora paused, then continued with, "I hope we all can be good friends, everyone understand?" she glanced at Tamoi and Cinnamon with a stern look as she finished her sentence. I arched one eyebrow for a moment, then shook my head and held out my hand. One by one, Tamoi, Cinnamon, and Mora all took it, shaking my hand warmly. I smiled again, looking up thoughtfully. Looks like I have more comrades to get home!
Good Night Good Luck:
None of us expected to hear that mother died, while she was so strong and powerful, and even worse, she was slaughtered by Ilimoss.
We all thought that would be impossible, but no.
When we were half asleep, an extremely loud and familiar roar shook the entire palace, and it might have woken up several Illimos and Winglesses for miles.
I, however, nearly shrieked in fear and almost fell off my bed, but Kashi did scream and fall off her side of the bed, and she gasped for breath.
I gave her a look that said we should check it out, and she nodded, nudging our half deaf sister, Kimiko, awake.
She snorted a puff of air, ice and fire, then sat up, giving Kashi a disgruntled look.
I rolled my eyes, then, too tired to speak, dragged them by their tails as they grunted and protested, and led them to the gates outside.
The first thing we saw was mother, lying motionless on the ground.
Kashi gasped, and my eyes went very wide, and Kimiko looked too shocked to speak.
Our mother, Queen Ash, the queen of the FeatherWings, was dead, and there was no sign of the people that murdered her.
It Lurks:
Night #1.When I could breathe again, I sat up and looked around at my surroundings. There was a forest to my left, and some buildings to my right. I thought I heard ringing, but I realized it was shrieking. What in the world? What shrieks in the middle of the forest ENDLESSLY? I thought. I was pretty sure that I heard a thump somewhere in the forest, but I paid no attention to it. I crawled toward one of the broken down buildings, and the shrieks were louder than ever. GOD it was SO ANNOYING! I was half tempted to sprint in there, take off the tongue of whatever the shrieking thing was, and scurry away again. The shrieks were getting louder, and I whirled around. Something was coming in my direction! I screamed and dashed into the closest building and locked the door behind me. Right when I thought it was safe, I heard something go thump, scraaaaaaape behind me. I slowly turned around, and I really wished that I didn't. What I saw horrified me. It was an enormous black spider with glowing, fierce, white eyes. It was eyeing me with a hungry expresion. I screamed again, and grabbed a nearby club next to me, and I yelled "I have a club and I know how to use it! YOU DON'T WANNA MESS WITH ME! I WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL AND I'M ONLY THIRTEEN!" My legs began to wobble, but I forced them to keep straight. I glared at the spider while it began to prepare to leap onto me. When it jumped at me, I swung the club as hard as I could, and the spider was thrown into a wall with a small sickening crack. I shivered, and was just about to go around the eerie sight to the other doorway when I remembered that the thing was still out there. I looked out the window and saw it just sitting there. When it saw my shadow blocking some light, its head snapped up. I winced as it got up and stared at me. Unlike the spider, it had sinister black eyes, and was a bit taller than a truck. It began to shriek again, and I said, " You are SO ANNOYING AND NOISY!" I stomped toward the other doorway, and the thing gaped at me for a moment. I thought I saw another light, and I creeped toward it. I stopped, warring in disbelief. It was a human! "Hello?" I called. He turned around and smiled with disbelief, his eyes wide and kind. "Hi there! Pretty crazy world, eh?" He said. I squinted at him. "Uhem, yeeeeaaaahhhh," I said with a twang I didn't mean to put in. He barked a laugh and I nearly tackled him to shut up. "SHHHHH! There is something at the front of the building I came out of!" I whispered sharply. Then I heard giggling, and then I realized his eyes changed from kind to full of horror. He shakily pointed behind me, and said in a broken voice, "Run!" Immediately, I leaped off him, grabbed his wrist, and sprinted as fast as I could. We both were out of breath by the time we stopped running. I led him to the school dorms and we gasped for breath. "What was the thing you saw behind me?" I asked breathlessly, and he responded with, "A kind of broken down doll" I stared at him with skepticism. "What?" Then I heard something giggling in the distance. It sounded a bit distorted, but I think this was what she said in a singsong voice, "I know something you don't! Play with me!" I shivered and looked out the dorm window, and immediately pulled back. I saw blood. I have blood issues, and I also thought I saw the doll. It had blonde hair, blue eyes, and a pink skirt with a matching top. Suddenly, a bell rang and I saw words forming in my vision: Congrats! You survived Night #1! It's daylight now, safe to come out! For now... I sighed with relief, and we went outside. We saw a trail that we didn't notice the first time we came into the building. We followed it and at the end we found high stairs leading to a small building on top. To our surprise, the sun was setting already! We sprinted as fast as we could to the structure, and when we got to the top, more words came into my vision again: Night #2 is here. Better get into a safe spot! Good luck! You'll need it...
